That 6'10 wingspan and athleticism means he can guard larger 2s and threes.

But I do have a weakness for big multi-positional guards. KJ runs the floor like a monster, he's a great oop target, he's dangerous in transition, and I think he could be a bigger McGruder type. Defense first guys with elite athletic ability and instincts are special to me.

Hell, his draft measurement stats measured at the same as Winslow's except he's lighter but much bouncier and more explosive. We got Winslow guarding 3s and 4s.

Who are the SL combo guards that you're interested in though?

Gian Clavell, basically a right handed TJ with some passing skills


Matt Williams, not really a combo guy. Projects to be more of a specialist ala Ellington but nothing wrong with grooming another shooter

Utah is fighting to hold onto Hayward in free agency, but is exploring multiple scenarios to reshape the roster should the All-Star forward leave the franchise. The Jazz are working to upgrade the roster, including point guard, before July 1 when Hayward will start taking meetings with Boston and Miami in free agency, league sources said.

I agree. If we could have gotten him and kept our core I wouldn't mind. I rather keep our guys and see what happens. I think the 'meeting' will be smoke and mirrors to get Utah to give him the max.

I'll keep a level head with free agency, if any of these guys want to come and be apart of a championship organization then cool, if not thats cool too I enjoyed watching the crew we had last year.

Something interesting I caught in the Herald today one scout thinks Waiters might only command 8-10 per year on the open market. I thought that was pretty low but they were basing that on the small sample size he really played well this past year

Hayward is much better than either Johnson or Waiters. I'd have no problem losing either of them if it meant getting Hayward.
