sign and trade?
maybe a 3 way trade

HEAT get Griffin
Clippers get Carmelo Anthony
Knicks get Tyler Johnson and Josh Mcroberts?
Yea Phil might go for this. Of course it would be likely be contingent on CP3 resigning for Melo to waive his trade clause

feel like the only places melo might waive his no trade are LA, Miami, Washington, maybe Brooklyn, Cleveland, or GSW

The PF spot is the most important need for us this offseason because JJ works best being the point forward for the bench and thats the only reason i want to keep TJ because the talcum boys had some good runs together so blake or milsap would be cool but i dont know if dion or jj feel like taking a discount for nikkas they dont know.

Im kinda against the whale hunting because the chemistry this squad had is what was impressive so maxing out some outsider that didnt put in the work might rub dudes the wrong way. Maybe okaro could get the start if he works on that corner 3 some more and give glass mcbob spot minutes so he dont break down on us too fast

the issues with griffin are he's never healthy, he's soft, he doesn't shoot 3s that well. :patrice:

BG can consistently put up 20; is a good passer, and his shooting isn't that bad given his position(33% shooter last year). Blake will be more than worth the gamble, if he can play 65 games(plus playoffs), and shoot 35% from deep while taking three or more 3's a game. The following above is not guaranteed, but certainly possibly and that's why signing Blake is/should be a priority.

I don't see Phil taking both of those contracts IMO. What's the benefit for him? he wants to get rid of Melo that bad?
Tyler Johnson also has a 15% trade kicker which would push him over 20 mil. We matched him, he's ours. Nobody else is tying up a 1/5 of their cap in dude without an incentive

McRoberts basically an expiring. TJ only getting 5.5-6 mil this year and has a player option after next year. Thats why Im not overly concerned with his contract if he isnt moved, we can always renegotiate to give him more money at a lower annual salary after next year.

No, what im saying is this. He's got a 4 year deal, the first 2 years are normal and then the spike is year 3 (next season). After next season he has a player option for the 4th year, he could opt out and we sign him to a longer term deal. So say instead of 19 mil that 4th year we negotiate a longer deal that would pay him a lower annual salary beginning that 4th year.

bruh who paying someone 30 million a year for 65 games? especially when he been hurt the last 3 seasons, and missed the playoffs I think 2 out of those 3. hasn't shown he's a best player type of guy either. thats the problem with paying griffin, this ain't nba2k, he's got health issues that should be a huge concern before giving him your franchise keys.

not saying I wouldn't sign him, but I would be extremely hesitant to just give him max money

mcbob is an expiring, as for TJ :francis: I'm just hoping Phil doesn't get any better offers for Melo, plus Melo gets the final say in where he goes. :yeshrug: knicks don't have that many
options there

@HiphopRelated we have arison to blame for the tj contract. riley wanted to let him walk, arison didn't want to let him walk for nothing. gonna come back to bit him in the ass maybe

That TJ contract isn't even that bad besides the spike next year, like homeboy said he'll prolly opt out unless he has a crazy injury and needs his payday.next year mcbob is coming off the books so that 18 mill is alleviated a bit by that. I'm intrigued by Ellington, I think he'll opt out and sign for the MLE, little more money spread over a couple years

He's not gonna opt out of 20 mil that nobody will give him. He might look for an extension, but roleplayers don't walk around giving back money. He doesn't have any endorsements and shyt to fall back on.
