Just because the League is competitive, doesn't mean its good quality. It'll tale a lot more than PSG dropping £200mil on 1 player to improve its standing.

No salary cap, which is a good thing imo. Never understood why the league should be able to artificially control a players salary. And it would be impossible to do due to the huge amount of separate leagues and clubs.


And the big leagues in Europe get mental TV deals plus ticket sales and selling the football kits, plus a lot of teams have been bought by mega rich folk who don't care about turning a profit.

The reason it's misleading is because the thread title makes it seem like the player is getting that money, most people reading it would have no clue that in soccer you have to pay the club to trigger a release. People are reading it like the player is getting a 200 million payment.

Technically Neymar did get the 200m+ payout as he is the one who paid the transfer fee to Barca, via PSG to buy out his clause.
