2013-2014 seahawks just because of the fact they dominated in more modern, sophisticated passing schemes. But the 85 bears allowing only 10 points in the entire postseason is absurd to this day tho:wtf:
Until the superbowl, playoff opponents didn’t score a point against the 1985-86 Bears. They allowed zero points against the Giants and Rams During their entire NFC playoff run. In the Super Bowl, the pats only managed to score 10 points in a 46-10 loss. The Super Bowl was the only game in the 1985-86 playoffs that a team succeeded to score points against the Bears.

DE - Gerald Williams
OLB - KEVIN GREENE*
ILB - SAM MILLS*
ILB - Carlton Bailey
OLB - LAMAR LATHON
CB - ERIC DAVIS
CB - Tyrone Poole

Mark Brunnel feasted on the 2000 Ravens even more than Marino on the 85 bears

85 bears also lead the league in both scoring defense and yardage defense. 00 ravens were 1st in scoring d but 2nd in yardage d.
Jimmy Smith had 15 catches, 291 yards and 3 TD's on that 2000 Ravens defense

I couldn't say.

I think the people who bring up the Legion of Boom Seahawks have a great case.

The 2000 Ravens though...they had 4 playoff games and allowed:

3 pts to the Broncos
10 pts to the Titans on the road
3 pts to the Raiders on the road
7 pts to the Giants in the Super Bowl

They allowed 20 pts to team just three times all season. That kind of dominance is just hard to explain.

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
None of the above....

The '15 Broncos and '13 Seahawks were more dominant defenses than any pre-2010 defense because of the era in which they played...

All were great for the era in which they played but you're asking what the greatest defense of ALL-TIME is which means we comparing cross eras...

The greatest defenses ever, '13 Hawks and '15 Broncos have cases for 1-year runs but sustainability, there is no defense in the history of the NFL greater than the 2012-16 Legion Of Boom Seattle Seahawks...

Marino feasted on the 85 bears. I'd take Baltimore over them because good luck throwing on that Baltimore defense

Can't speak on the 76 steelers for obvious reasons
The only reason Marino feasted on the 85 bears is because stubborn ass buddy Ryan didn't want to go to a nickel defense him and mike ditka almost fought at halftime in the locker room because he didn't want to switch out of the 46 defense :mjlol:

I am taking the 2006,2008 ravens defense and the 2008 Steelers defense over the 2013 seahawks defense don't get me wrong. It was a great defense but they didn't have a dominant pass rusher

What does under center mean

Like most of their defense was focused on the interior?

It means when the quarterback receives the snap by putting his hands in the centre's butt, as opposed to a pistol or shotgun snap where the quarterback catches the snap from a further distance , around 4 yards and about 7 yards, respectively.
