"Originally, they were thinking Khan. But with so much negative feedback, with the blogs and various things -- it seemed like every time you saw Amir Khan's name attached to it, it said he had no chance. I think if they go based on titles, and who brings something to the table, it's Maidana. I don't think that many people want to see Floyd fight Amir Khan," Jeff told Mayo.
Amir Khan doesn't have a title and he hasn't done anything to deserve a shot," Jeff Mayweather said. "People want to see Floyd against the guy who beat Adrien Broner. They want to compare the imitator against the genuine one. Realistically, that's what [Broner] is, an imitator of the legitmate thing. Khan isn't like Ricky Hatton. Most people don't even like him there."
Like I said this nikka will kill himself if he don't get this fight, how you have a lottery dangling in your face lie 3-4 times and couldn't cash the muthafukker simply cause of his inepititudeAmir Khan @AmirKingKhan 17 hrs
Mayweather says he needs a easy fight and fans want to see a knock out so maybe thats the reason he doesn't want fight me n wants Maidana ??
hes sweating . Maidana has never been KO'd
He feels his retirement fund slipping away, ducked alexander thinking he would still get the payday, he has no shame
I want broner vs maidana 2 but at the same time i dont want khan to get the floyd payday as he doesnt deserve it at all

I think Khan don't get this fight regardless if he wins or not, he should be blowing Maidana out not losing, it shows Schaefer is over estimating Khans brand, not to mention the Floyd fans like myself that will revolt and refuse to buy any future ppvs in this fight goes through...........Schaefer better tell his butt buddy Khan to fukk off or else GB
Amir Khan's hopes of fighting Floyd Mayweather have been dashed after he polled just 20% of the votes to become the American's next opponent.
Earlier this week, the pound-for-pound king took to Twitter to ask fans who he should fight on May 3 in Las Vegas - Khan or Argentinian Marcos Maidana.
And the South American is currently winning hands down, with results from Fight News showing he has received 80% of the votes.

Personally I think as soon as Maidana beat Broner, he was selected as the next opponent. The setup is too easy, he beats a poor Floyd clone so casuals will think he can do the same to the real thing, he has a belt, he has a style easy for Floyd to beat, he has an every man persona the public will rally around.
Until they get in the ring, Floyd beats him easily (12-0), and then everyone says Floyd hasnt beaten anyone just like they did with Canelo Alvarez
I just feel like, if everyone wants to see Floyd fight Maidana.....cool. But when Floyd destroys him, you cant go back and say Floyd picking "easy" opponents just because he makes it look so easy when he fights.
Floyd fights Maidana, beats him, yall have to give Floyd ALL credit. It's not fair to big up a fighter, Floyd then fights and beats him, and then people say "that guy was a bum all along"
I've long accepted that no matter who Floyd beats he will get no credit for it, all the man can do is just keep winning.

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/robe...ordinary-in-my-era.134210/page-6#post-4982820You already know I said Floyd gets all the props from me for taking the Alvarez fight. No excuses if Floyd beats him

Yes, I'd preferred to see this fight happen in May 2014, when Alvarez was a little older with another "good" fighter in his resume, but he accepted the fight so be it.
Floyd accepted the challenge and if he wins, against a naturally bigger fighter just entering his prime and the #1 fighter at 154lb, Floyd deserves all props for the victory.
It's not fair to bash him for not stepping up from the Guerrero's/Ortiz's/Old Mosley's/Washed Up Cotto's, then he steps up and wins, then bash him for winning.....I dont do that
If Floyd wins, which I'm betting that he does, he deserves all the accolades for winning the fight. Same for Canelo Alvarez.
