floyd has not fought a fighter like maidana in a long time. hes been fighting all boxer punchers: canelo, guerrero, cotto, ortiz, mosley, marquez. the last legitimately pressure style fighters he fought were hatton in 07 and baldomir in 06 two fights he had to work extremely hard to win. maidana fight will look a lot more like against hatton than against guerrero or canelo

Amir Khan's hopes of fighting Floyd Mayweather have been dashed after he polled just 20% of the votes to become the American's next opponent.

Earlier this week, the pound-for-pound king took to Twitter to ask fans who he should fight on May 3 in Las Vegas - Khan or Argentinian Marcos Maidana.

And the South American is currently winning hands down, with results from Fight News showing he has received 80% of the votes.

Maidana started off up 80% to 20% and it's now down to 51% Maidana to 49% Khan.............I expect Khan to surpass him by sometime tomorrow

On August 1st, 2013........a month before the Floyd vs Canelo fight. I said:

You already know I said Floyd gets all the props from me for taking the Alvarez fight. No excuses if Floyd beats him

I'm not making ANY excuses either way and will not allow anyone else too. Yes, I'd preferred to see this fight happen in May 2014, when Alvarez was a little older with another "good" fighter in his resume, but he accepted the fight so be it.

Floyd accepted the challenge and if he wins, against a naturally bigger fighter just entering his prime and the #1 fighter at 154lb, Floyd deserves all props for the victory.

It's not fair to bash him for not stepping up from the Guerrero's/Ortiz's/Old Mosley's/Washed Up Cotto's, then he steps up and wins, then bash him for winning.....I dont do that

If Floyd wins, which I'm betting that he does, he deserves all the accolades for winning the fight. Same for Canelo Alvarez.
