It’s a legally binding contract, I can’t wait to hear the bullsh!t excuses on their end
so a lawyer from article with the athletic had a copy but they gotta go up to see it
Geographically it doesn’t make sense either (not that it matters in 2023) but I wouldn’t want to be going all the way out west to play in empty stadiums
This is the same guy last year who said FSU would never make this move this year.ACC is going nowhere.
And the reason why is the following schools will want to be in a conference:
BC
Pitt
Syracuse
Virginia
Virginia Tech
NC State
Wake
Miami
GT
Louisville
ND (Everything outside of football - they never giving up their independence there).
Only schools who voted against the last expansion are Clemson (Who may be on the downslide now), FSU (Cause they broke), and UNC.
Thing is I can see the following schools leaving for the Big 10
UNC
GT (We had preliminary talks with them before the expansion that added Louisville in the early 2010s)
UVA
Miami
All schools that are AAU Members. The conference itself has been the best academic conference as well (between us and Big 10 anyway).
And outside the SEC, the conference with the most Nattys in the last 25 years....... Yeah, The ACC.
Well yeah I'm aware of that, I'm saying if though. That if is bleak enough to where it should be discussed. The dream of the USSR-USA-esque Big 10 and SEC set up becomes realer once the ACC fails.they not winning this lawsuit.
what they seem to forget is their own school president as well as the rest of the school presidents all signed this deal knowing that it was ironclad.
What they should have done is not make go until 2036. ESPN has an out in 2027, but why do that when you got a major power conference on a cheap deal by today's standards.
Bobby Bowden said he didn't want those sec problems. They think they did something cuz they beat LSU in whats essentially a preseason gm and beat bum azz Florida.i bet if Paul Finebaum remembers going back to Sept 1990 his quote. as an SEC spokes person he's laughing at FSU right now.
fsu mightve won some battles (national championships) but the SEC won the long war
You thought it was one way but it's really the other wayI'd make them nikkaz ineligible for the conference championship next year off GP for suing the conference.
YOUR SCHOOL PRESIDENT SIGNED THE DEAL THAT IS IRONCLAD TILL 2036.
This is the same guy last year who said FSU would never make this move this year.
Bruh... it's over
I think if they're in SEC or Big 10, they would've flipped a handful of recruits this year, including Jeremiah Smith. But the stench of being in the ACC was too much to overcome. It's about the B10 and SEC in college football... period.True, but it's definitely against their favor to do all this extra shyt. Like Bomani said, the CFP is meant for entertainment and not for merit. I guess they assume the revenue for them to go another conference will account for the fees. Problem is they're going to really sorry if they go somewhere else. No offense my dude, but schools like UVA, UNC, and GT don't seem to care that much about a Natty . Them FSU fans are just as delusional as Miami and my UF bruhs when it comes to winning.
You thought it was one way but it's really the other way
So many people told you nikkas this was going to happen but y'all keep talking about "exit fees" and "blah... blah... blah"
ACC is not at the big boy table... Florida State knows this. So they making a power move. fukk the ACC
Bowden: “They did want us, they did invite us to join the SEC. Everybody thought we would join. In fact, I thought we would but our administration — the president and others — wanted the ACC, which really was better for us. It would have been hard wading through that SEC. Too many good teams in there, boy.
you talkin about recruits and not revenue. this is way bigger than some goofy ass recruiting.I think if they're in SEC or Big 10, they would've flipped a handful of recruits this year, including Jeremiah Smith. But the stench of being in the ACC was too much to overcome. It's about the B10 and SEC in college football... period.
The sooner y'all realize this, the better.
been known. And they ran through the conference for over a decade.
Hope everyone enjoyed the season, cfb is dead..
