I have said it before (probably in this thread) but all of the Arrowverse shows need to break out of this formula of having a "Team [INSERT LEAD HERO OF SHOW HERE]" situation. That is one of the biggest flaws of the entire set of shows and where the writers tend to really get exposed in how lazy and underwhelming they are.

For Flash in particular it is stupid to have Team Flash on the show anymore.

Star Labs needs to be sold to someone, Cisco needs to move to who gives the fukk, toss Killer Frost over to the Legends, have Ralph pop up maybe once or twice a season as a guest star (which is what Elongated Man used to do in the Flash comics, him and his wife would show up for a couple issue arc to solve a case with Bary and then they would bounce), make Iris a real reporter again in the vein of Lois Lane, put the focus of Barry's work life on CCPD with him and Joe.

Essentially make the show about Barry Allen the Flash and his supporting cast of Iris, Joe and maybe one or two regular people not superheroes or super-scientists. then focus on showing that Barry is a legit capable super-hero who doesn't need a team of thousands to defeat the bad guy.

but then how would CW be able to meet their diversity quota

I'm with you, but it's clear as well that part of the reason they don't know how to write to the team is because they don't see the characters as anything more than tropes and quotas. We're 5 seasons in and we don't actually KNOW any of the characters. They all have surface level issues. That's why we continue to have the "manufactured drama" and "fake tension".

They haven't done shyt with the cast over the past few seasons. Team Flash seems forced and unnecessary. Half of the time someone's powers aren't working or they are having some life crisis and aren't around.

Flash and Arrow would be better as solo shows with an occasional guest appearance.

The Flash Reportedly Casting a New Scientist Character for Season 6

It sounds like a new face could soon be coming around STAR Labs. According to a new report from TVLine, The Flash is currently in the process of casting a new math and science expert for its upcoming sixth season. The description says that the character will be "a socially awkward, African-American genius in math and science (who specifically is a bit obsessed with aliens and their tech)".

There's no telling exactly who this character will end up being, and whether or not they'll be an established DC Comics character or one created specifically for the show. Their potential arrival on the show certainly is interesting though, especially since Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) appeared to leave STAR Labs and his role as Vibe at the end of Season 5.


There's also the notion of the character being drawn to "aliens and their tech", which could possibly provide a hint at who the season's currently-elusive new Big Bad will be. Even if that doesn't end up being the case, that character's knowledge could come in handy for the forthcoming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover as well.

Arrow's team really brought the show down. A bunch of useless superheroes. Especially diggle and that hispanic dude. They're all useless and bring nothing to show but filler storylines

Use to love this show.. stopped watching.. i don’t know why I stopped watching. Ralph was annoying.. the whole Caitlin needing to find Killer frost was annoying af.. Barry’s wife was annoying af.. like why is she the leader.. why is she there leading? The wife who could read minds was annoying af too.. like why am I watching this? Idc about that character. Barry’s daughter was corny and annoying too.

The best part of this show is when they had an intelligent version of Harrison wells pushing Barry. Give me Barry, Cisco, Wells, Jo and a little Caitlin. That’s all this show needs.
