CW shows, in general, are WOAT when it comes to false moral dilemmas. I ranted all throughout The 100 thread about their inconsistent on again off again morality that seems to only exist to regress the main characters and keep their villains alive. The same has been done on Arrow despite the fact that the heroes are responsible for various deaths all throughout their series they still waste time bickering about what shade to paint their villains' plot amour with until the finale when the bad guy usually dies anyway. I could see if they were arguing about whether they should smother Gracie or not but they're talking about simply curing someone who's destined to kill anyone really everyone who gets in her way. Metahumans, normal people, and children included, she even killed her beloved uncle for trying to talk her out of killing. That shyt was stupid too her whole motivation is to avenge her parent's deaths and yet she killed the only parent she had left so what is her point other than being murderous? In the writer's minds, I'm sure they felt it was their way of establishing Gracie as the new Cicada and an even more ruthless one but to me it made her an even worse version than the one we had.

I think more or less it was to show how the original Cicada “involuntary” corrupting her mind to whereas she has to do the task by any means necessary. There is no cure for her hatred, which does make her just as dangerous. I wonder how bad the timeline would turn if they would kill the present Grace?:patrice:

If I'm Barry, I'm getting a vasectomy as soon as I find out Nora is working with the man who looked my mother, had my father thrown in jail, and tried to kill everybody I love.

That vasectomy allows me to continue ducking iris raw with no regrets

The Flash Hit Series' Lowest Ratings Last Week

The Flash hit a series low in ratings on The CW with last week's episode, "Failure is an Orphan." Adapting the DC Comics character of the same name, The Flash has been consistently the highest rated superhero series on the network. It has even surpassed the show it spun out of: Arrow. Although Arrow is considered the creative nexus of The CW's interconnected DC multiverse with most heroes being compared to its series lead Oliver Queen The Flash is the most successful.

Since so much of the Arrowverse takes it cue from Arrow, it was a little alarming when The CW announced that Arrow was ending with season 8. The next season of Arrow will be a shortened one and supposedly wrap up the series' two timelines of the present and the future. With The Flash's ratings slipping, fans of the Scarlet Speedster may be worried the series finale might not be too far behind. However, they can rest assured knowing The CW renewed The Flash for season 6 already.

Cancelled Sci Fi, which tracks the ratings and possible cancellations of various science fiction shows, reported The Flash hit their lowest ratings ever in the week of March 11. The Flash received a 0.5 rating in the sought after demographic of viewers between the ages of 18-49. The Flash pulled in 1.6 million viewers which is only slightly more than Arrow, which landed a million viewers and and fellow superhero CW series Black Lightning, which had around 750,000 viewers.

Before fans get too worried about The Flash reaching its finish line, the series has been already renewed for a sixth season. There's no sense currently that The Flash season 6 will be the series' final year either. In fact it seems like The Flash will transition into a brand new era in season 6 by adapting the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic storyline in the annual crossover and changing showrunners. The CW is also historically less concerned with the live ratings of their series than other broadcast networks. The CW tends to prioritize streaming and online fan engagement with their series over ratings. These are both arenas where The Flash has a proven track record of success. Furthermore, The CW usually announces a final season of their series well in advance of its airdate to give both the creative team and fans time to prepare.

However fans might want to consider the possibility that The Flash might come to an end sooner rather than later. The Flash season 6 likely won't be the final season of the series, but there's a good possibility that the series could wrap up as early as season 7 or 8. This isn't just because of the series' declining ratings, but a lack of story possibilities. Arrow itself isn't necessarily ending because of its ratings, but because of a creative decision to wrap up the series with a satisfying conclusion.

The ray of hope is the prevailing fan theory surrounding Arrow's cancellation is that the series will wrap up during the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. Arrowand Crisis could conclude with Oliver Queen's death making The Flash's Barry Allen the most prolific superhero in the multiverse. In essence, Crisis on Infinite Earths would wrap up one era of the Arrowverse and start another. It's certainly possible that The Flash could be reinvigorated by Crisis on Infinite Earths, Arrow's ending and the presumed changes of both. The opposite could also be true with Arrow's end signaling the finale of all the current DC superhero series. After all, TV series usually don't become more popular than ever in season 7.

CW as a network has ratings going down across the board. I think there's literally only 2 shows that average just above 2 million viewers.
Their streaming deals and international tv rights and social media impressions are whats keeping them afloat so I dont think Flash is getting cancelled anytime within the next 2 years.

That said with both Arrow and now Supernatural announced as ending next season the foundation is slowly being taken out of them and I dont know if stuff like Riverdale and Supergirl are also doing well

They'll keep making more comic book shows, rebooting old WB shows and YA novels going all the way back to Nancy Drew but Im curious to see how the shuffle of the steaming companies vying for content will affect them

Im gonna go ahead and say I wouldnt be surprised if the CW as we know it ends in 5 years once Warner Bros inevitably announces its own streaming service like Disney plus. I think that will also affect the DC Universe streaming app which has sort of been a failure though no one wants to admit it, also Netflix as it continues to lose programes back and maybe the CW itself

The show is dreadful and aside from the crossover and the Grodd/King Shark episode everything about this season has been barely watchable trash.
They need to fire every writer and director associated with this bullshyt.

The season is way too long. It should be 13 episodes max unless they change up the format. The only villain that could sustain everyone's interest for an entire 20+ episode season is Thawne (Zoom is a distant 2nd).

I have thought they should do shorter seasons for a while now which would give the existing shows more of an opportunity to run for more seasons while also opening it up for there to be more shows based on DC properties. 10-13 episodes max is all any of these shows need.

Threw her in the fukking cage asap Rocky

April 16th? :wtf:

:snoop: I said it before but I mean it now. I’m not ever watching another cw show until after the season has aired. I got enough shyt to keep me entertained. I’m not sitting through anymore of these random ass breaks.

I will miss these threads but it’s a worthy sacrifice. There is no logical explanation for this.
This is probably what’s killing the ratings, out of sight out of mind is real. I been following all these shows and my favorite seasons were the ones I binged. #fukkappointmentTelevision
