All of this is useless if you arent passing it on to the next generation to continue to build where you left off. There are companies that have been around over a century. Do you honestly thing if these founders just build wealth and let it die with themselves that these powerful dynasties would still exist. Marriage is very essential to wealth building;

It creates a progeny, connections to family ties, etc..it isnt a coincidence that many ceos get marries more often than not.

You're not passing on shyt if you don't have shyt to pass on yup.

so like I said marriage is nice n all.. but there are far more important things

I support marriage for social reasons but it is not a primary reason for our lack of wealth and should not be discussed as a primary reason for our lack of wealth.

It's a reason though and the angst against it isn't helping the cause. I can see saying that it's not a panacea, but to deny it's importance is foolish.

Marriage is also a wealth building institution aside from being a social one. It always has been. Love marriage is a recent invention. As an institution it was always about wealth passage from one generation to the next. The aspect of love is a new convention.

Again it won't solve all issues, but it's a simple step, necessary one and part of the puzzle.

Agreed.

When did the Black community become some individualistic. No wonder there's no wealth building together. It's all about the individual.

You're always passing on something.

No one said that marriage was the only thing. It's the vehicle through which wealth can be passed from one generation to the next. No one's arguing that the buck stops there.

It's no a zero sum game.

If marriage was just nice and all, why all the fight over giving the status to same sex couples?

Marriage is a wealth building institution. Its just not as effective as forcing other humans to work for free or having the government give you a check to buy a house or get a degree. You aren't going to close the wealth gap with Whites with marriage.

Also, two broke people marrying isn't really going to generate tons of wealth. Well off Black people aren't exactly marrying their poorer counterparts, not like there are enough of us who are rich to bring our poorer counterparts along with us.

They have a system built on applied knowledge so we won't be able to fix it.

That is what people don't get.

Bottom line. We can never change our status as a group unless the world is turned upside down. A good indication that tptb do NOT want this as they would lose their castles.

The only way we could gain some power is if we won it in war and gained resources. We can't learn and earn ourselves to boss status as ALL resources are owned by cacs.

Of course you're always passing on something... like a bible, "right mind," or jack&shyt :skip:

I never said marriage was the only thing... but you don't need marriage to pass wealth.

The same sex shyt just shows that the west is in decline, nothing more... :yeshrug:

Wealth, wealth, wealth, wealth, wealth. $$$$$$$$

What about community?

Tons of white people aren't what you call wealthy. They live in nice neighborhoods. They have stable incomes, but wealthy, not so much and that's ok.

I'm hoping to see more stable working and middle class black communities with a higher standard of living.

The area I live in now, it's nice, mainly white, but these white people are ballin' out of control here, nor are they wealthy. It's more about community. Nice parks, fresh food that's easily accessible, small business, local commerce, that kind of thing. That's what I want to see more of in the black community.

The obsession with being rich and wealthy is I think where all this fierce individualism is coming from. There's less a focus on sustainability and more focus on making money for the individual. That to me is another one of the issues that doesn't help the black community grow and ironically build wealth.

Hence me saying marriage is good for social reasons. Its also easier to maintain a stable marriage when you have some sort of wealth.

Leave it to them in your will or hell groom them when their kids, slowly impart the wealth to them as they age.

The social reasons I pointed out are great ways to stem the tide of black poverty and quality of life though, hence I pointed out marriage is a cornestone to economic growth and stronger communities.

Working together in any manner is always better during good times, pointing out that marriage is easier with more money is nothing profound.

The issues within the black community will take a lot of working together to erase, whether times are good or bad. Poo pooing an institution that promotes working together is to the detriment not betterment of the community in my opinion.

You need wealth to have a community like that :skip:
