The social reasons I pointed out are great ways to stem the tide of black poverty and quality of life though, hence I pointed out marriage is a cornestone to economic growth and stronger communities.

I am not anti-marriage, sista, I just think you are giving it to much weight where the conversation about economics is concerned.

Leave it to them in your will or hell groom them when their kids, slowly impart the wealth to them as they age.

Interesting . .. so you have more of an issue of transferring wealth to a former lover more so than progeny. Got it.

You asked if there was better way than marriage to pass your wealth on to your offspring...

You don't need marriage to pass things down :skip:

I never said it would solve everything. I'm not giving it too much weight, I'm saying it's important.

Watching the fight for same sex marriage rights was eye opening to me. I don't see how or why any black person could deny it's an important pathway to wealth building after witnessing the clamor within that community, which is made up of namely wealthy white men who complained the couldn't pass money to their lovers when they died in the same way married people could, as something that's not an important cornerstone to building wealth in the black community is all.

You answered you'd use the legal system to pass wealth through a will. I get it.

No one has denied that marriage is a good way to build/pass on wealth.

But marriage is not the cause or the cure for black peoples unequal economic achievement in America.

Talk of marriage rates shouldn't have any place in that conversation.

I don't agree.

Black people can't integrate fully into white society, they is no equality there. All that's left is building within right. Doing that will take working together. Marriage to me is a cornerstone to that. Building families and then building communities.

Pointing out ad naseum that there's inequality regarding jobs, salary, etc, isn't talking about a solution to me.

Building from within, starting with families out to building connections in neighborhoods, communities and by building our own commerce is a discussion I think that will point to more solutions is all.

Why does this not have countless daps? Is the truth hard to digest in this case?

"build your own economy" is meaningless. its not your economy if you are using US currency and group economics cannot generate the wealth lost due to racism.

You sounding like you have no hope. How is developing black businesses and keeping things as exclusive as possible not a big part off the solution to us moving up?
