No one has denied that marriage is a good way to build/pass on wealth.
But marriage is not the cause or the cure for black peoples unequal economic achievement in America.
Talk of marriage rates shouldn't have any place in that conversation.
I don't agree.
Black people can't integrate fully into white society, they is no equality there. All that's left is building within right. Doing that will take working together. Marriage to me is a cornerstone to that. Building families and then building communities.
Pointing out ad naseum that there's inequality regarding jobs, salary, etc, isn't talking about a solution to me.
Building from within, starting with families out to building connections in neighborhoods, communities and by building our own commerce is a discussion I think that will point to more solutions is all.
