Too many nerds. Breaking down every second of the trailer, looking at every face, looking for Easter eggs and shyt. Yeah I know Marvel caters to that, but just sit yo ass down and watch a movie, if you like it, you like it, if you don't, you don't.

Cats just love finding something to be upset about. "The lack of on location filming and structually designed set pieces really detracts from the plot and the essence of the characters particularly when bringing comic book movies from the page to the----" SHUT THE fukk UP!!!!!!!!!!
Stop it fam. Those “nerds” were right. Tell me that BP1 wouldn’t have felt more authentic if Marvel hadn’t been too cheap on some Chitlin Circuit tip and actually shot the movie IN Wakanda

That's because 2 out of the main 4 male characters are dead. Wkabi was a traitor and probably wouldn't have been in the movie much anyway if the actor wasn't busy. Mbaku is clearly in the trailer.

Yet somehow and someway they were able to add more new Mexicans to this movie than new black men :wow:

Should have recast T'Challa. Black Panther was around long before Boseman was born and will be here longer than us.
That would've been the logical/correct course of action but they don't respect the franchise like they do the other MCU properties. It's become the "black" movie that'll put asses in seats. So they'll do what ever maximizes that and according to the media it's black women.

?.....Is there any chance Mbaku becomes the new Panther in the movie?

Yeah there's a chance that M'baku could become Black Panther.
Apparently Marvel shot two endings. Ending 1 has Shuri stay as Black Panther but she'll make M'baku the new king of Wakanda. Ending 2 will have Shuri past the mantle of Black Panther to M'baku. It's currently unknown which ending Marvel will use.

Who is they?

I swear folks act like they weren’t alive when Boseman died and didn’t see black folks from all corners of life saying they SHOULD NOT recast the role. Pretty much the only people trying to pump the brakes and say hold on were black male comic book fans. We were the ones saying this character needs to stay alive. But that was drowned out by the woke twitter force.

Then Marvel came out and said they would let the director and cast choose what to do because nikkas was just way too loud on the issue. Coogler decided not to recast and started rewriting to what you are now seeing on the screen. Marvel just moved on from that hornets nest.

So no, black folks can’t cry and try to shyt on “whitey” for not recasting when the strongest voices and the decision not to recast fell to “us”.

Ah man.:childplease:

You really fell for that? You really think they left the fate of a block buster movie to a director? "They" refers to the studio bosses.

Bruh, two black men wrote the movie and were writing the sequel. It’s one of the most hands off movies in the MCU from the studio perspective.

The “fate” of the property was in the directors hands from day one.

Marvel was not gonna step into the shytstorm that was swirling at that time. Coogler should have stood up and spoke to how important the character was to people instead of taking the easy way out. At some point WE HAVE TO SPEAK UP!

This thread title ain't it. Pasting from another thread but...

Any black person boycotting this because they disagree with their choice to make the movie a celebration + mourning of Chadwick is an opp.

A whole black man wrote and directed this shyt and 99% of the cast and crew is still black whether you're displeased with the penis to vagina ratio or not.

Stop overthinking shyt, just go enjoy the movie for what it is and support YOUR people. Nobody is tryna "erase the black male hero". Let alone Ryan Coogler of all people. It's just a creative choice ya'll happen to disagree with.
