The BasedFather
Task Force
My ultimate goal is to become LAFD
I almost applied for Phoenix FD but they’re the same way. Ride the ambo for your first couple yearsMan them boys hiring like crazy today. Heard the city is making it mandatory to ride the rig for like two years before making it over to fire

I know it’s only temporary but fukk that shyt. DFD don’t pay shyt either.
Man that ambulance stuff is soul draining. And like you said they don’t pay that well for the amount of crap you have to deal with.
Detroit got no rules
You would’ve been close to retiring by now if you kept the interest fat pension waiting for youCongrats. I inquired about being a fireman in the 90s at my local Detroit FD and dude outside was like, "We might be hiring in about 5 years." I moved on. Much respect.
We go on so much foolishness. Why are we responding 5 deep on a ladder truck for things like you said, drunks..falls..minor fender bender accidents…baby with a fever. 911 abuse is off the charts, people call for literally anything.Chicago use to be like that where you had BLS Ambos but they got rid of them after too many lawsuits. Guys were just not giving a shyt because if you are a FF who wants to spend an entire day doing 20 runs for straight bullshyt like picking up drunks or assists for fat fukks falling off the toilet? And if was something serious like a heart attack wtf are you going to do as a basic EMT outside CPR/AED use? It was a complete mess. Chiefs were playing favorites with guys where some would be assigned to an ambo 10 times while others would only be on twice a year. Thank God they phased the shyt out and it’s ALS only.
Is there a ideal range for height & weight? My cuzzo can't decide if he wants to be Sailor or become a city Fireman. He's 17 and just a shade under 5'8.
He's built solid tho, played Safety last season.
No weight requirement...you just gotta pass physical and cpatIs there a ideal range for height & weight? My cuzzo can't decide if he wants to be Sailor or become a city Fireman. He's 17 and just a shade under 5'8.

They forget ambulance rides cost moneyWe go on so much foolishness. Why are we responding 5 deep on a ladder truck for things like you said, drunks..falls..minor fender bender accidents…baby with a fever. 911 abuse is off the charts, people call for literally anything.
The worst misconception that people have is “I’ll get a room at the ER quicker if the ambulance takes me”
Nope your ass going right to triage, take a seat
