Yessir. Chicago, Detroit and NY are the top in the country. I used to be Detroit but now work for a city on the outskirts.
Looks like NY starts at 43k and bumps up to 80k after a few years and the potential to earn 140k depending on rank. Know those guys and gals out in NY work and I respect that

@tru_m.a.c yes he’s a member of the Vulcan society and they already helped him out. We thought he was going to be put in Northern queens aka whitesville but they ended up changing him to a majority black firehouse in Elmhurst.

, I got a couple close brehs who on and been on for years and they started at like 75k and was like at 95k then 125k in like 5 years time.. he kept moving up wit different titles so salary is up there now but south Florida salaries DIFFERENT when it comes to firefighters( one of only jobs where probably above national avg).. it's all public records too.. and this was 15 years ago when 100k meant somethingDon't even get me started on the retirement drop program where they retire after 20 years with 80% salary and go up 2% every year.. I think they got that out the paint quick tho when media started hating
but all my brehs grandfathered in

Wanted to be a firefighter since I was 5-6 years old, tears of joys fell down my face
FDNY is the best department in the country. Lot of training and protocols are based off how they operate out there. Is he assigned to a engine or ladder company? @Anerdyblackguy

That’s the first thing I grab when my boots hit the ground as I step off the engine. Highly versatile tool, we wear something resembling a tool belt around our waist. Stays on my hip the whole time.
Women openly flirt with us all the time. I’ve been slid numbers on receipt paper when we go grocery shopping.
I get it
We make decent money and majority of us are in decent shape
