has anybody attended a WWE show recently? i went to a smackdown several years ago and it just wasn't fun. at all. took non-wrestling fans with me like "no, it's a great live show, you'll have a blast" and it just wasn't.... good. it wasn't fun. the old lady two rows behind me was having the night of her life, though. 100% marking for the babies and booing the heels.

I've had the opportunity to attend the last 3 house shows they've done in Chile for free and decided not to go. Mainly because of the card and roster/talent didn't seem better than other shyt I could do those days.

I have a group of friends that haven't missed 1 show WWE has done here and the last few shows they always come out like ":ehh: it was fine, but I'd would've been pissed if I paid". Last time one of then took their son and he was bored to shyt with it :dead:

my point being, if even your live show isn't fun to be at, as a wrestling promotion, you're looking at a WCW in 2001 situation.
of course it's not fun. Look how dead the crowd is now. The show itself sucks. How the fukk you supposed to have fun

How many years ago was it?

If it was the 2010-2016 'two hour Raw recap' era that's on you.

The core as to why the wwe has sucked for so long is that its a publicly traded company and I dont think Wrestling is meant to be opersted under a publicly traded company.

Thats why you have them pushing Cena and Reigns as faces while they get booed at every match only because they can sell merch to kids which helps the stock for investors. Its why they have a million writers controlling all the monologues and dialogues of the show so that it can be sanitized and controlled as much as possible so that investors and sponsors dont get scared.

Being a publicly traded company creates more concerns for the short term gain of stock holders as opposed to the long term build and development fans want to see

They've been producing live reruns of their show for the last decade now.
:dead:you're right. what they're doing is LIVE re-runs :deadrose:
You’re right. The never ending stream of rematches with no progression is just live reruns :ohhh:

I disagree. It’s definitely Vince pushing what he wants. Roman never moved the needle, yet Vince pushes him even when fans leave by the thousands during his matches. Christian has some of their top selling shirts in mid 2005 and instead fed him to cena quick, sent him to smackdown to job in the midcard, and then took his merch off the shopzone. Zack Ryder got crazy over and they made every effort possible to kill his crowd support until the audience didn’t care about him anymore. Barrett got so over as a heel that the crowd was totally behind him, so they cut his mic time entirely. They tried to bury Rusev so badly that they thought & hoped it would get Lana to dump him when he was getting over. EnzGOAT was selling tons of merch and they jumped at the chance to fire him. Punk sold merch like crazy as a face, but they turned him heel because Vince and rock wanted it. Sasha has all sorts of mainstream crossover appeal and they only use her as a utility wrestler/good ring hand to put over the Barbie dolls they want at the top of the division to the point she wants out, just like what happened with punk. There’s countless more examples I could go into, but I’d run out of characters allowed per post :lolbron::francis:. The problem will always be :flabbyvince:. He books the show for himself, and only for himself.

It's messed up because they've created a system where they will throw bones at the fan favorites or workers who are liked backstage via some hot shot title reigns. Naomi, Sasha, Asuka, Bayley, etc have all held their belts for a blink of an eye and lost them as soon as booking could get it off their waists. If you're not one of the "Chosen Few" you're likely to lose a big feud, lose your belt, and get weirdly de-pushed afterwards. Sasha saw the writing on the wall after the fifth time. There were plans for a big title run which got thrown out the window for whatever reason and that said it all. Why give out belts if you don't have any plans for the champion to make it mean something? Where is the important feud that makes them both look like it was hard fought? They'd rather give out charity belts to make everyone feel special.

Most of these title reigns look forced and half assed. Anyone can get it, then lose it, and head straight down to the lower card. :skip:The same could be said for Dolph, Bray, and Zach Ryder, guys who tried their best to get over but got halted by the brass. They go "Here's your belt" but it's gone before it even meant anything. Why even bother?

:gucci:

SMH from 50-50 booking in the undercard to title reigns that mean nothing, it's been really funny how they've manipulated their own talent and the fans. Vince is a twisted carny yall. Every time it looks like you're getting what you want it's really just a thin veiled gesture that's meant to lead you back to the stars THEY WANT YOU TO CHEER. The audience still thinks its the other way around but it ain't.

:hubie:

y'all still falling for that six week excursion called we listen to the fans. It occurs after mania or leads into before the rumble. Then the rumble and mania move the product back to its low quality carni origins.

stop watching that bullshyt.
after Hogan regardless of their kofi offering which was all semantic. Plus fifteen years to late.

do not watch this bullshyt.

Major bubble. They cut cost in every single way that they could, got a tv deal, and influx on Saudi money. They have no other way of increasing revenue or profits. It's a wrap
:mjlol:Do you know how long people have been saying this shyt? You can Google search people saying they weren't going to make it to 2007. The WWE demise has become the return of Jesus.

I went to a house show in 2014 but it was in MSG which they treat a bit different. The main event was a lumberjack match between Cena vs Wyatt with Triple H leading heel lumberjacks while Flair led the face lumberjacks. We also saw Charlotte and Sasha about a year before they came up to the main roster.

I just can't believe that someone like vince could just lose the fundamentals of how to build a wrestking brand. Im not saying his board is pulling the strings, but I think the reason why he stubbornly pushes for things fans dont want is because he wants to uphold wrestlers that wont upset the mercurial and speculative nature of the stock market.
