has anybody attended a WWE show recently? i went to a smackdown several years ago and it just wasn't fun. at all. took non-wrestling fans with me like "no, it's a great live show, you'll have a blast" and it just wasn't.... good. it wasn't fun. the old lady two rows behind me was having the night of her life, though. 100% marking for the babies and booing the heels.

the lucha underground taping i attended was heaven on earth, by comparison. Pentagon is THAT dude, brehs.

my point being, if even your live show isn't fun to be at, as a wrestling promotion, you're looking at a WCW in 2001 situation.

I been saying this shyt for ages and it's slowly coming together. Here's the following that's going to happen:

  • The Fox deal going to crumble because "lolz wrestling"
  • AEW maybe MORE than just a t shirt company that can't fill those asses into seats:ohhh:
  • AEW getting a major deal that will piss Vince off (see bullet 2)
  • Trump money ties will end up being a domino effect (:sas1:)
  • A law suit that will finally stick (Harper, Banks, and another "famous" wrestler will actually kick the thing off)
Trust, this is just the beginning and this goes beyond bad ratings :whoa:
Bad attendance, directionless show where nobody feels important, bad morale in the back, lowest ratings ever? I legit don’t think Vince or Stephanie have it in them to get it together. The ties to trump could surface soon too, and we’ve speculated more than a few times about Vince laundering money just like his pal trump.

There's a reason to why there's no union, no benefits, and so forth....

First thoughts, I'm sure the 2nd quarter will look good base on those WrestleMania numbers but I am surprised about the drop after the reach 100 shares last week. They might have to increase their international shows over the next calendar year because these small town house shows don't seem to be profitable.

The way WWE runs their business makes absolutely no sense to me. I cannot think of a single entertainment entity that functions with such open contempt for its audience and its workers and seemingly has no desire to change.

I think about how much people have shytted on DC films for the last couple years and how that's led to WB doing a massive restructuring of their strategy around the IP. Well, WWE has been getting that kind of heat for OVER A DECADE and hasn't changed a motherfukking thing. If anything, generating that kind of heat has only made them dig their heels in deeper and be more stubborn in refusing to adapt to modern audiences.

WWE has been able to get by on being really the only game in town for big budget, high production value pro wrestling. Sure hardcore wrestling fans know they can watch any number of indie promotions, but for the casual, WWE is wrestling. The problem for them is that because they refuse to change the show or work to put on a better quality program, interest in wrestling itself is at an all time low in the mainstream. It's officially become a niche, nerdy thing that most people have no interest in seeking out, and that's only going to become more evident as people switch over to streaming services where there's no WWE content.

Further, because the show is so bad, they're also scaring off the hardcore fans. They'll always have their lifers, but the hardcore fans are moving on to New Japan and Ring of Honor and whatnot. Or just falling out of wrestling as well and only tuning in for big shows. They're losing fans of all stripes and not creating new ones if reports about their fanbase aging are to be believed.

Then you get into how they treat their workers and I think that's going to start hurting them as well. Again, they'll always have marks who just want to have their check say "WWE" on it, but I think a lot indie talent is seeing the treatment of people like Sasha Banks and Luke Harper and thinking it best they hold off. Hell, Kenny Omega is one of the hottest independent acts on the planet and he's said flat out that's why he hasn't signed. If you know you can earn a decent living at places that will treat you better, why put up with the E's bullshyt?

I don't know when it's going to happen, but I think WWE's day is coming. The model they've built just isn't sustainable in the long term, and as soon as them TV deal checks start looking funny, it's all going to come crashing down.

B b but ratings don’t matter. They do matter and they matter in every other form of entertainment on television. It’s an indication on how the product is being received and that will hurt them in other areas (ticket sales, merch, games, Fox deal). Also they are full of shyt with those subscription numbers. :comeon:

Product is so bad but it’s hard to stop watching something you’ve been into for 20 years. I went cold turkey a year ago and haven’t looked back even during Mania with the prospect of the first black champ wasn’t enough. I wasted so many hours and money with this company the past nine years or so out of habit. So many better entertainment and life options besides sitting through 6+ hours weekly of their dogshyt.

Like someone else said WWE is the only company that does shyt in spite of its fan base and trolls them to no end. I’ll never understand how they have all those writers but end up with shytty elementary storylines that aren’t entertaining.

Then don’t get me started on the historical :mjpls: , Hoegan and Trump shyt. I hope reality continues to hit them even though I don’t think they’ll ever go out of business in my lifetime (marks spend major money), they will drop down a couple of notches. Stephanie’s comparison to Disney was laughable and so is the XFL..shows you how out of touch the heads are.

I’ll never watch WWE again unless my children get into it on their own.
