this game is kinda pissing me off. the chick keeps dying in boss battles. its like the boss does the super attack and she never blocks then once she dies i have to heal myself and can't mount an offense. worse yet not all the familiars can even block. boss goes into a super attack and you have a couple seconds to switch and block.

i'm level 20 at the volcano boss. don't seem under leveled at all.

it will be like that until you get the party attack/block option, she wastes so much magic healing when you don't need her to also. I would just play as her earlier on and just heal Oliver.

I started playing this yesterday(because I coudn't find a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles :beli: ) and this game is the truth. The animation :wow: I'm only 5 hours into the game and its already in the upper echelon of rpgs of the last few years.

the funny thing is when Xenoblade came out less than a year ago it was easy to get.

i still have my unopened copy and the art book and i'm watching them sell on eBay for like $150 new and sealed. i intentionally didn't open mine so i could sell it new one day and downloaded it and played it on my modded Wii.

if your computer is decent you can play through the game on Dolphin.

I think that's what I'm going to have to do.
I called every Gamestop in a 20 mile radius and the best I could find is a used one for $70 :what: I wanted to play it than flip it for a profit.

How does it compare to Ni No Kuni?

It's like that until they give you the "all out" ability. You'll be able to tell everybody to defend or attack.

Edit: :snoop:

i kinda wish this game stole Paradigm Shift from Final Fantasy XIII. would make managing battles so much better. i'm trying my damnedest to be over-leveled to compensate for the AI dying. i stay in areas till the enemies run from me.

i didn't die during that boss fight or any boss fight but having to basically Paradigm Shift without the streamlined interface is awkward.

two completely different games. I know people like to compare them because they are realistically the two best JRPGs this generation, but they aren't really comparable like that. It really depends on personal preference, you might love one and hate the other or you might love both for different reasons. but if you are already playing Ni No Kuni you should at least finish it before you start Xenoblade, cause they are both great games. Both have proven that JRPGs still have something to offer.

So have people gotten tired of it yet? Or is it showing some longevity...Maybe I'll cop sooner than I thought.

i've spend a lot of time grinding in this game. the bosses are challenging. i've got about 20 hours in and am gonna hit the half way mark according to IGN.

the majority of the dialog isn't voiced though so you just read it which is weird for an HD era RPG but its not a big deal.

I put about 60 hours into the game however, I'm in the midst of playing Metal Gear Rising at the moment ( :blessed: ). However, I can easily imagine picking up the game to complete some of the side-quests and try to get 100%. There is plenty of completed game material after you complete the game and I played through to the end without getting bored.

By the way Winb, as far as boss battles, you think they're hard now, wait until you get to the final boss battles lol

Sap dragon is a beast along with Griffy.

One gripe I have with the game is with the post game quests they all would have served better to have been available prior to completing the game the Riddle mission in particular really fleshes the story out and gives you a weapon that could have served in the finally battle. It also makes absolutely no sense to save the most powerful weapons until after the game.
