I can't stand that autopilot ass game and it's snoozefest story and characters. FFX was campy as hell but the story held your interest, the summons were great, and the sphere grid was way better than that chessboard and job system.
It's all opinion but damn I hate that game

i value exploration and ffx didn't really have any, neither did XIII.
to me, FFXII felt the most like a western rpg in terms of how open and customizable everyhing was.

Most RPG progression is, at least there were teleport spheres and key spheres to unlock abilities and different areas of the grid.

I understand if you're coming from an exploration standpoint. I don't mind things being linear if I like where the story is taking me.

i was familiar with 7, 8 and 9 but FFX was the first one i really got into with PS2 and the new gen graphics.. The story was dope. i will always go to bat for this game. i loved it at the time..

I never did get Onion Knight cause of that damn lightning. I loved the summons in this. Tidus' laugh is always funny. fukking Seymour when he morphed
