Honestly, I've never see anything like Elle before. The closest thing to it perhaps is the film 'Stoker', where you have a woman protagonist you're made to feel sympathy for, and then the film takes a sharp left turn and you don't know how to feel about her. The ending was shocking as hell. It stayed with me for weeks. And I still think of it randomly sometimes. I think its the way it transforms the victim into the predator that rattled me, and I'm still not sure how to feel about what I saw.

Still haven't seen 'Lion' or 'Hell or High Water'. Might check out 'Lion' this weekend. My town never got 'Hell or High Water', which pisses me off.
