I personally thought Nicole Kidman's "why I adopt" monologue towards the end of Lion was godawful, particularly the dreaming about brown people shyt
I thought the first half of Lion was amazing. That kid deserved more award buzz than Patel, but kids never really get acknowledgement (Last year proved it as well with Room and Beasts of No Nation). But the parts with Patel and his girlfriend just didn't do it for me. The editing in it was also really weird and distracting, but again, only during the Patel parts. The ending was pretty great though
