Most underappreciated film of the year. I think it's still on my list too.

I loved it. Had me on the edge of my seat over a bread seller

Man i'm slacking this year I haven't seen A Monster Calls yet either. I have 3 weeks to catch up.

So this is what I have right now. It could possibly change

1. Zootopia
2. Nice guys
3. La la land
4. Moonlight
5. 10 clover field lane
6. Fences
7. Hell or high water
8. Jungle book
9. 13th
10. The witch

Once I get my gif game on, it's official. And yes zootopia is still the best movie I saw this year while I feel like the nice guys was incredibly slept on and also the movie I've probably seen the most this year. I could easily stretch this to 15 or 20 because I'm leaving some stuff off but fukk it we do 10

I've been thinking all day and I think I might sub Manchester for The Witch. Zootopia is my 16 as of now but it might replace Handmaiden in the HM

Yeah civil war, arrival, hail Cesar, love and friendship, and the de Palma documentary are in that 11-15 range for me. No idea which is which but they're their

In process list- Still need to see Loving, Jackie, Lion, Hidden Figures, Silence, Elle and Toni Erdmann.

My top 4 are all pretty much interchangeable. I know the order of those will probably change. I might even shuffle some Honorable Mentions into my top 10.

1. La La Land
2. Moonlight
3. Hell or High Water
4. Arrival
5. Hacksaw Ridge
6. 10 Cloverfield Lane
7. Nocturnal Animals
8. Eye in the Sky
9. Train to Busan
10. Manchester by the Sea

Honorable Mentions:
  • Sing Street
  • The Witch
  • Everybody Wants Some
  • The Hunt for the Wilderpeople
  • The Handmaiden

Train To Busan over The Handmaiden and The Wailing? :why:

Mediocre ass Eye In The Sky and 10 Cloverfield Lane? :what:

If it weren't for your strong top 5 your list would be basura.:hhh:

The lack of Lion on lists is both :ohhh: and :scust:

Lion is a good movie for the most part but the long stretch where dude just lies on his couch or walks through the street having flashbacks to his childhood was boring and unnecessarily drawn out.:yeshrug:

Like I said in the Lion thread the editing and pacing are the movie biggest issue but everything else is 100%
Hit me right in the feels.

I get why some people love it but to me that brought the movie down quite a bit. And in a year where there might be a serious chance that La La Land, Moonlight and Hacksaw Ridge (which I all loved) are going to fight over my #10 spot, anything less doesn't stand a chance.

You like Hail, Cesar that much?
Might be a bottom 3 Coen film for me.

I had more fun with Train to Busan than the other 2. I did enjoy all three though. The Wailing really creeped me the fukk out though. I need to give The Handmaiden another watch because it started losing me towards the end.

Besides I always have genre films on my list every year. :umad:

And like I said it's IN PROCESS so I'm gonna probably make some shuffles from my HM and and catch up on other films in the next 3 weeks

The lack of Lion on lists is both :ohhh: and :scust:

Haven't seen it yet.

What bugged me the most was Dev Patel being like five shades lighter than the kid who played him in the beginning.
