i absolutely LOVE the first matrix and it's one of my favorite movies of all time, but i can't deny bond's impact, longevity and influence. matrix 2 was good and 3 was still enjoyable but it left a black eye on the franchise unfortunately.

Gotta go with Bond. This was a tough one for me cause I was never a Bond fan and only fully watched a couple of them.

I liked Matrix 1 & I guess I'm in the minority that liked part 2. But I wasn't really blown away.

Since I'm not really tied to either franchise emotionally I went with legacy. I don't see Matrix standing up to Bond in that respect.

Matrix came out when my family got one of those "cheater boxes/black boxes" that gave you all the PPV channels for free, and I flipped to it every day it was on there. shyt was :gladbron:

But those Bond marathons on TBS have been running for 25 years :to:

pick one of License To Kill, The Living Daylights, GoldenEye, Casino Royale > anything in the Matrix.

Tomorrow Never Dies is better than anything any Matrix sequel.

Always felt TND was a little underrated. Really liked the media mogul angle, and it's still relevant 20 years later.

It’s not underrated to me BUT it is prescient and looks better in hindsight with what we know about media and just how important broadcast rights are lol. I actually think the world is not enough is the underrated one from Pierces run

Denise Richards kills that movie for me. I know the Bond flicks aren't short on shoddy acting from the love interests, but Jesus Christ

She’s the weakest part of the movie but I blame that on her dialogue and casting. She did the best with what she had and she really didn’t have much. There’s a big book of Bond that has behind the scenes info on damn near every movie and they had different people writing different characters dialogue. So the woman who wrote M and Elektra King never got a chance to write Christmas Jones. Either she didn’t want to or just didn’t get a shot at it. So you had the men writing one woman’s lines and a woman writing the other two women’s lines and it shows in that movie.

Still it’s Brosnans best performance as Bond and Renard and Elektra are really dope. The movie suffered from too many cooks in the kitchen

You're talking about the world is not enough, not TND. It's honestly a solid film until the second act. When Denise Richards character is introduced.
How am I supposed to believe she's a nuclear scientist called Dr Christmas :gucci:

I know what I’m talking about breh lol. He said he couldn’t get with the world is not enough because of her and I was just elaborating on it. Yeah she’s not “great” in it but some of the stuff they had her say is ass cheeks worthy. And when you find out who did what in the script you realize why. If she’s not the best actress you can’t handicap her with terrible dialogue to boot.

I had to think this one over and went with Matrix. I just could never get into Bond and I’ve only watched the ones with Brosnan/Craig. I enjoyed the first two Matrix movies over the Bond ones I saw sooo :yeshrug:

The winner is The Matrix.

Bond is bond. Its epic, its cool, its hip, but its just very well dressed up run of the mill good vs evil story telling which is kinda lame. There is an evil plot and an evil villain. Bond shoots the villain and then we're done. Boring. Aint no body care about a lame ass bond flick the second you leave the theater. Its not deep at all, its basically the same shyt every movie with a little spin here and there.I love them but they bore me.

The Matrix is such a deep ocean of stirring knowledge man it makes the entire bond franchise look like a kidde pool. The themes addressed in that one movie alone, the nuances and names thrown about, the questions it makes you ask yourself. Its way above bond. To this day I wonder, can anyone actually prove we are NOT in a matrix? Such profound shyt man.

But Matrix is really TRON 2.1, replacing Flynn with Neo and I'd guess Tron is part Morpheus.
