Is putting the world cup in a place not even remotely capable of handling them actually doing any good for that country? It's not like he's building these stadiums out of the goodness of his heart. :stopitslime:

He's building the stadiums in places that don't need them, then giving the deed to the FIFA representative, who then gets rent from that country's government. He's doing good for the representatives of smaller countries no doubt, but I'm not sure that building giant empty structures does any sustainable good for a country.

Nigeria hosted the u17 world cup in 2011

Tunisia, Egypt, and Morocco were also strong candidates.
MAYBE morocco. Egypt isn't stable enough right now. They're experiencing massive tourism shortages due to civil unrest.

Tunisia is kinda slipping, but too small.

Nigeria isn't stable enough right now.

And U17 isn't the actual world cup dummy. Not in size or scale.

we talking about back in 2003 when those countries were up to bid for the games.

You can't use today as a barometer for back then.

Blatter didn't support the Qatar bid. Platini supported both Russia and Qatar and is the most anti-Blatter federation head. Investment in football and spots for Africa and Asia have expanded rapidly under Blatter. You're clueless dude.

How exactly did SA get "pimped"? The bid wasn't thrust on them they wanted it and it was hosted successfully. Was Germany pimped for 2006 too?

Is there any subject where this fakkit @Napoleon doesn't interject with his limited intellect and bytch made views :camby:

Come on. Iran?

You need a country with the financial resources to host a world cup. Iran doesn't have that to the extent Qatar or Dubai have. Factor in international relations...
It actually has the proper population and infrastructure to sustain a world cup and even though it has atrocious human rights records, they aren't as bad as their neighbors.

Qatar's having to import slaves to do the construction and once the cup is over those stadiums are gonna be multi-million dollar sand collectors.
