Don? Come on breh. He's horrible.

He's downplayed racism in football for the longest, claiming that there "isn't any racism in football". And when there were evidence of fixed games in Italy, he said "I would've understood it if it happened in Africa".

Again, fukk this dude. He's been using black people for the longest to stay in power and have paid them crumbs. He doesn't give a fukk about anyone or anything.

Him stepping down now means he's scared as hell, knowing they have stuff on him. He would've NEVER stepped down otherwise.

Crumbs? Football infrastructure has rapidly improved in the confederations that support him and huge investments have been made. What's as patronizing as Blatter's comments is idea that those who support them are naïve or captive and aren't getting anything out of it themselves. Maybe they're using him as well, how's that for a revolutionary idea?
:ohhh:I wonder what made him change his stance?

Oh yeah

:snoop: That article was published *after* the vote. He openly mused about Qatar losing their bid multiple times after they won it. Get caught up.

And the next guy will DO like an apartheid era prime minister if youre not careful.

Blatter did all that?

Damn hes even more of a don that I thought :whoo:

:salute: would love to know how Sepp gave Russia and Qatar the world.

IIRC All the countries who bid for 2018 and 2022 with the exception of Australia, had the World Cup before. Russia and Qatar are new markets as much as folks don't want to admit it.

Europe were due in 2018 under the rotation system. Who else could host it? England ok but no one likes them. France, Germany had them recently. Italy and Spain are broke. 2022 smells but they could use the same rationale they used for 1994 and 2002 - expanding the game in new markets.

Is putting the world cup in a place not even remotely capable of handling them actually doing any good for that country? It's not like he's building these stadiums out of the goodness of his heart. :stopitslime:

He's building the stadiums in places that don't need them, then giving the deed to the FIFA representative, who then gets rent from that country's government. He's doing good for the representatives of smaller countries no doubt, but I'm not sure that building giant empty structures does any sustainable good for a country.

Countries choose to bid, if they don't want, don't bid.

You're right.

But I wouldn't say the premise of this entire article is very strong evidence:

There is a firm conviction in Qatar, endorsed by close observers of Fifa, that Sepp Blatter did not support their bid, and was among the eight voters who backed the American bid in the final voting last month.

That's the most ambiguous statement I've ever heard. He's basically saying "I heard this shyt from someone and some people who aren't actually involved in FIFA think it might be true.":rudy:

The US came and liberated the shyt out of Fifa like in Iraq :russ:

Please get the cup away from Qatar and in the US

so many foreign hoes up there its gon be :wow: :mjcry:

US is never getting the world cup again if the new version of FIFA is a democracy. It's over. That kills me inside because they had one of the most memorable.

2 million people live in Qatar. That's the same population as Houston. :laff:

250,000 people can actually watch it on television.

The only country in that region who might be able to properly host this shyt is Iran.

I'm fine with Russia getting the 2018 bid, but bribery is how that country operates. Of course some shady shyt happened in order to make that happen.

Which is why I mentioned Iran. If you want to do it in the middle east, Iran is the only country capable of doing it properly. And they don't get along with anybody.

There's something pretty fukked up about doing two world cups in a row on the same continent either way.

Come on. Iran?

You need a country with the financial resources to host a world cup. Iran doesn't have that to the extent Qatar or Dubai have. Factor in international relations...
