Fidel was a titan. Growing up in the islands we saw a different side of him. A ton of our kids got an education in Cuba and many were able to get access to Cuba's healthcare system. Americans came to hate this guy and some of it is justified but Cuba was basically treated like a whore by Americans.
Not a socialist by any means but understood his motives. He ultimately failed the Cuban people in some key areas but standing up to Batista and being a voice to many Davids is what I'll remember him for.

Castro was a real one. He did alot for Haiti. He allowed poor Haitians to attend their medical school. He provided aid to Haiti. Cuba was one of the few friends Haiti has. He broke bread with Malcolm X and the Black Panthers. He always spoke out on America's hypocrisy on preaching freedom and independence while oppressing black people.

Yeah I don't think this is a big deal politically his brother has been running the show for awhile more symbolic then anything.
I agree did alot if good and bad we can't skip over one and not acknowledged the other.
