Game is a disastrous flop for the "pedigree" of the director involved (XIV) and how much $$ and free-reign development time, in man hours and just empirical years (4+ year "uncrunched" full development cycle) went into making it. Hell Square already kicked these CBU3 goofballs off of FFXVII because of it, and they were prepared to hand "stewardship" of the whole fukking franchise over to them just a couple months ago. 
Companies thinking about taking shameless Sony moneyhats like Square did for this going forward need to take a hard look at how SF6 is crushing the buildings now... compared to the all-time disastrous launch and initial years of SFV when Sony was funding it in exchange for exclusivity. If you don't have the benefit of a teflon license like Spiderman carrying your game it ain't gonna work out for you most likely. Square is bringing this to Xbox next Fall/Winter along with XIV to try and rectify their mistake... but it'll probably be too late at that point if there isn't a "FF XV Royal edition" level makeover/update coming along with it.

preorder numbers on steam is very good with the game. It's currently in the top 5 sellers list. So, I think sales should be good on PC because PC gamers don't really mess with windows store. I am unsure how good sales will be on console since most xbox gamers are on gamepass, but we've seen gamepass games move decent physical sales.Mighty curious to see how Starfield does without the PS base.
