just wondering

seems like a lot of girls throw their friends in the bushes once they get a serious relationship or get married

I only have one childhood friend that I talk to weekly/biweekly. There were three of us, but one passed away two years ago. We were all best friends since the 7th grade and our birthdays are/were a day apart (the 18th, 19th, and 20th).

I have other childhood/high school friends that I talk to and hang out with when I visit home, we don't really talk on the phone regularly, but the love is still there. One's stepdad died today. I called her and I plan to visit her family next week when I go home. We are good enough friends that I would still be willing to help in anyway that they needed (including financially...which they likely won't) as they prepare for the funeral.

I still have the same three good college girl friends, and gf from my teaching days. None of us live in the same city. Therefore, these are the people that I vacation with (within the last year I celebrated one of their bday in NO, one bday in NYC, and went on a cruise with the other one).

I have been blessed with the type of friends that even if we don't talk every day/week, no love is lost. We all understand that we are adults who have our own lives.

How many do you have?

Less than 10, only because we were on different paths and after HS/College we developed different interests. That being said, if I see them in public I say hi or whatever.

The closest friends in my life I made in while I was college. A couple of them I talk to several times per week. Others I check in on periodically, and now that we're all starting to make money we're trying to make it a thing to vacation together during the summer. I have ONE friend from my hometown that I ALWAYS make sure to see whenever I visit--been friends with him since my senior year of high school. One of THE realest people I know. I couldn't imagine not continuing a relationship with any of them because of a romantic relationship/marriage. Good friends are hard to come by.
