Clout is a drug of its own. Its the fuel to everything dysfunctional we see today.
THIS. Stronger and more addictive than any narcotic that’s sold on the street. This is what needs to be discussed. Ruining lives daily as a causal factor in death- egos and the need for attention. The reason why people are so ego driven and narcissistic that they need to put every and any move they make online, front online for people that don’t give a fuk about them and the materialism associated with lifestyles. The reason why people with “hood celebrity”
status don’t realize that there’s millions of people watching you online, they brag about accumulating followers, but they never seem to really pay attention to whose giving them with a scope. Clout is the new cocaine - everybody is chasing it, riding off the high and adrenaline rush; will sacrifice their soul for the opportunity until the rush tapers off when they bottom out off a reality check.

Damn I actually fukked with Cas. Hopefully Jay has him with the best lawyers.

"I'm just tryna Live" :mjcry:

Jay is not trying to help anybody. Roc Nation already got what they needed off his deal - what else can he offer for the return of their investment fighting fed charges on a multi count indictment and mandatory minimums with maximum life sentence. This is the worst indictment that I’ve seen for a rapper at his level. Feds are sweeping YouTube, IG, Twitter - extracting data. There is no such thing as a delete button.

Cas is not Murder Inc with 60 million to throw at legal fees and fines off fed charges.

And IG made it infinitely worse. Most of these cats catching Fed cases, get a whole rush when their favorite IG thot 'likes' their pics of fukkery and ignorance or some exotic car/chain that they dont own. I dare say, a lot of these rappers who portray themselves as part of 'that life', do it for attention and not out of economic necessity (entirely).

Or......just go the positive route and avoid any misconceptions whatsoever. Life would be so much easier if less negative energy is openly displayed, in the first-person view.
If their lives are not positive - there not going to rap about what they don’t live. Dudes coming off prison bids, foster homes, group homes, are not rapping about what they can’t relate to. Don’t let the false bravado with Nas think that he was all that “positive” - difference is Nas is extremely lowkey with his; he’s very calculated; he’s been in the trenches - he just had the means to not personally get his hands dirty and maneuver without being seen or traced.

Not all of these positive, “conscious” rappers are who they perceive to be either. I’ve heard stories. Unless you’re truly indie or underground - there’s a lot of nefarious connections at play. Anyone with a known industry name under a major label is into suspect activity - it’s all about branding and promotion.
