I'm kinda stupid when it comes to a lot of this fitness talk. It's too complicated for me but I try an keep it as simple as possible. First of all you're probably going to mess up a lot getting started. If you don't that's great but it took me like a month before I could even get close to something of a routine.

Drink more water. I carry a gallon of water with me everywhere I go, there's those water fill stations in front of stores for 25 cents you can refill your gallon if you don't have water at home.

Start thinking about your food. For the longest time I just ate whatever was convenient and didn't really give a fukk about what I ate. Start thinking about it more. What made sense for me was to eat chicken, tuna, fish, or turkey. Easiest shyt was just eat chicken. Also when I eat salads I don't eat iceberg lettuce cause it's a waste of space and it's better to throw some better vegetables in there (spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrotts, avocados). I'll put a little siracha on them and they don't taste bad. Use measuring cups too they help you find out how much you're eating.

For the exercise, do whatever you can. At first it's going to suck, you might not like it and skip it for the day, that's cool just try again tomorrow. Keep trying cause you're trying to build momentum. Walking is exercise, if you can't make it to the gym or don't feel like it, just take a walk.

I'm no expert, just trying to tell you what works for me. I started in January at 280 right now I'm at 236. Just start, it's ok if you mess up just keep at it.

if your gonna go heavy on the cardio dont make the mistake of not mixing in weight training and calisthenics fam......you want to tighten and tone your body to go along with the weight lose and not look deflated and flimsy....especially at your height and weight it will help combat the sagging:flabbynsick: skin.....

Brehh i aint shyt....on the real junk food is fukking demonic cus i cnt stop eating unhealthy brehs :to:
No problem breh. At least you replied. This whole week has been me barely trying. I still fukked up a lot. I'm drinking a beer right now :smh:.

I started with drinking water that's what helped me begin. It's the weekend fukk it take it off don't even think about weight loss :russ: Monday though try and drink a gallon of water and walk for 30 minutes. Also if you have time post what you ate that day. Start there that's it. 30 minutes is like going around you're campus or something. I'm struggling just like you but it's that momentum that helps the wrecking ball break the building. Take Saturday and Sunday off don't trip, I'll message you Sunday night. I know everyone is telling you to lay off the sugar drinks and they're definitely right, but just drink 1 gallon of water, cost you a buck(change you have in the couch), and walk for 30 minutes on Monday. Just do that, if you can do more (2 gallons, 60 minutes) do that. See you later.

I am trying to lose weight too, it's so hard for me to cut soda or coffee, I need to have Starbucks or Soda at least once a day. Gonna stop though and drink water, I eat plain white rice with chicken at lunch but night time I get super hungry, I need to replace that with something light

Here's what I did, I was 315 and I've dropped down to 280 since December. Like the other guys said, don't drink the calories. Water is your friend. I cut out soda and beer which I really like to drink a lot. Also drink coconut water that has no sugar added. Also you want to load up on protein. I eat lots of leafy green veggies, you can get them dirt cheap at the farmers market, also broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, even spicy peppers which aid in detoxification. Also you want to eat lots of fiber, which will also be good for you. I am of sort of a different mind when it comes to eating. Breakfast is the meal you can kind of spoil yourself with, imo. It sets the tone for the day and keeps you from over eating, don't get me wrong don't pig out with sausage/bacon, but maybe some dry toast, with egg whites, or a boiled egg and turkey bacon or a bowl of cereal with fresh fruit and fat free cottage cheese, which will give you a boost and keep you full into the middle of the day. I would suggest uncut whole oats if you eat oatmeal.

I personally don't really designate a lunch like that, I usually will snack on a salad with maybe some grilled chicken or tuna, with a light vinaigrette and a pinch of salt.

Dinner again, I would make chicken or some type of fish like salmon or halibut I usually bake or cook it in a pan with an olive oil spray. Also 2 types of veggies at least and I usually have brown rice, or if you can afford it BLACK RICE.

As for exercise, just keep moving, run up stairs, go to the park, you don't need a gym membership (though I have one for dirt cheap), depending on your job sneak in some pushups if possible. Also don't look at the scale for the first 3 months, just focus on how you feel and your increases in endurance and strength. And just have fun with it. Its about the health being fit looking is a side effect.

Breh I've been there, I was a flabby n sick 320lbs at one point in my mid 20's. I've been as low as 172 since I've lost the weight. I try to stay between 190-200lbs. Its mad good advice been given in here already, but you have to know yourself and what works for you schedule wise so you can maintain whatever program you decide to go on.

1. Pretty much everybody has said this, but drink mad water and don't drink no juices or sugary drink calories.

2. Find a good high protein shake/bars that work for you. Something that you enjoy eating/tasting. Something that you can conveniently consume to stave off hunger and to replace meals.

3. Add green vegetables like raw leaf spinach or bags of broccoli you can steam in the microwave for convenience. Season it or add a light calorie sauce on it so that you can enjoy it and it doesn't become a chore to eat.

4. Red potatoes. I get the bags that I can steam in the microwave. They are dense and filling, but still low in calories. A lil margarine/butter/vegetable oil spread and some salt/pepper. shyt is tasty and filling.

5. If you got to eat meat, baked fish & boneless skinless chicken breast. Tuna in a can is great if you like it. You can cook up a whole batch of chicken breasts for the whole week for convenience.

6. Get your ass in the gym. Find a time where you can be consistent and faithful. Start off slow, but focus on making small gradual improvements. See how many push-ups/crunches/pull-ups you can do, and try to improve on it little by little.

7. Intense Cardio is your friend, it will accelerate the weightloss process so fast. Again, Start off slow and focus on small improvements. Can you jog for 2 minutes straight? Well make that a goal until you can do it. Can you jog for 4-5 minutes straight? Can you jog a mile without stopping? Use these as cardio warm-up goals. Then focus on intense intervals. Run for 30 seconds as fast as you can tolerate and then walk for 2 minutes. Repeat these intervals for as long as you can. Try to do 5 sets if you can and continue to improve on that number. The weight will fall off of you breh. Adjust your sprint speeds and time length as you get in better shape.

8. Maximize your period of motivation to be as strict with your diet as much as you can. Once you settle in and burn out a little bit, then try to implement the cheat day/meal system. 1 - 2 days a week allow yourself to enjoy whatever you want to eat (for dinner only) so you don't burn out on your diet mentally. Like plan that shyt out like a party. Look forward to that day and use it as motivation to stay focused on your routine. Use your cheat day meal as a reward for your discipline and hard work.

Great advice in here.

I lost 45 lbs in 2011

Didn't count calories. I just did elliptical for 45 minutes a day and really ate chicken, veggies and was as healthy as I could be. Cut out fast food and sugary drinks.

I'm tryna do it again but it has been so hard for me. Like...I can't even explain.

I have an office job and make more money and just can afford to eat what I want and it sucks.

I did pretty good this week.

Water, fruit and oatmeal for breakfast.

Grilled chicken and veggies for lunch.

And chicken veggies or chicken sandwich for dinner --- all homemade.

I'm trying hard but...it's hard.

jogging and pushups. and doing some stretching just to keep limber (in the beginning if u dont stretch ur body gonna tell u FOH with this shyt at end of day or when u wake up)

i know this is ass backwards. but checking the scale everyday was motivation for me. i would look at the number everyday, and think "this is so whack" drove me to exercise more.

diet is key. i used to do calorie counter, but i was eating trash, so i was always hungry staying under the limit. i abandoned that idea and just started eating alot of vegetables and staying away from all fast food, junk food. if u are having trouble kicking the soda, u can get a case of flavored sparkling water with no calories or sugar. it's still carbonated so it's a nice transition because your body is used to that.

Start with taking 1 hour walks everyday then slowly eliminate your bad eating habits
