Mestizo just means native and there isn’t much of a presence there like there is in central and South America.

I remember @King P mentioning a reverse one drop rule there so the numbers might not even be true.

I also heard "Blacks" in Brasil maybe much more than 15-17 million. Some saying around 50 million. Brasil like most these Latin-American census be tricky as hell.

Miguel isn't a good example to use. His mother is Black American and his father is Mexican. There are actual Afro-Mexicans who never left Mexico and have African blood due to slavery but Miguel isn't one of them.

No Miguel actually has Afro Mexican ancestry, I saw a video where he went to Mexico and he has cousins who look just like him.

Right cuz the flip side is a white Cuban or puerto rican is never more than 3 or 4 generations removed from a black person. We literally have a saying that goes if you aint got congo in you got carabali meaning everybody got SOME of africa in there somewhere. But the flip side is you do also have black cubans and puerto ricans claiming to be 'spanish' and not claiming blackness at all. Its not a big deal for dark skin nikkas to relax their hair and dye it blonde over there, something that would get u ridiculed here just like bleach cream. Everybody is mixed just different degrees they identify differently thats why i don't believe the stats on cuba or pr cuz you gotta go with your own two eyes and see it, they nikkas and if theyre white white they act like nikkas and marry black women

The average ADOS is actually 15-19 percent European. Not 20-25%. And yes most ADOS have little Native American but it more so depends on the state. The Black Seminoles probably have the most Native admixture out of all ADOS.

Ok so he also has black blood on his father's side too? Please post the video. Sounds interesting. But I don't think that cousins are good indicator of a person's individual heritage. I have cousins who look full white and I have Latino cousins but I am not white nor am I Latina. Their heritage isn't mine.

Agreed....I think the 20 to 25% I have seen on DNA sites includes biracial people that identify as black....15 to 19% makes more sense for people with two "black" parents.

Location definitely matters. Geechees and Gullahs are going to be much closer to 100% than a random breh in Seattle, Cleveland or Detroit.

what somebody identifies themself as ; has nothing to do with their actual DNA
and for the record I can’t speak for the island itself but as a person who is born in raised in the Bronx I’ve never ever ever heard a Rican call or consider themselves white
