Yes, this is exactly what we are fcking saying. Mcdonalds corp, one of the biggest in the world, and a corporation that routinely receives billions in tax payer funded subsidies, should be forced to provide a livable wage for their employees. If they cannot meet this basic demand, then remove them from the food service landscape, and replace them with corporations or businesses who can. If they cant, then I guess lazy fcks who want to eat sht all day will starve.

Enough is enough with the 1%. What fcking good does it serve a nation to have millions working full time, and still have to supplement that income through welfare, food stamps, and govt. provided services such as medicare, ext? WHEN IS THE FCKING INSANITY GOING TO STOP, with labor bloodletting and comical economic distributions that resemble third world? We have no social mobility in this country. If you're not born rich, you're fcked. The American ideal is completely undermined.
Low skilled jobs pay low wages it's been like that since forever....stop with the nonsense already.
The workers can quit if they don't like it, anyone of these streets can flip a burger

The Chik-Fil-A restaurants in my area of the world start their employees at $10/hr according to my niece who worked at two different franchises before she transferred to a different school down south. That is a reasonable wage for a fast food worker in my opinion.
I don't really have an issue with the workers wanting more money. I just don't see how they can realistically think they have a leg to stand on when they have pretty much zero bargaining power. Fast food workers are way too easily replaceable for this to have any chance of being successful.

Burger king is your last hope. See how that ignorant shyt works.......

you have stockholm syndrome
You have entitlement issues.
I've worked minimum-wage jobs. Co-workers were high school students, people in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. It comes down to knowing that a minimum-wage job is not where you want to be and to aspire to go higher than wallow at the bottom.

I mean if you really wanna uncover why NYC is so expensive....shuffle through this website for a bit.

http://seethroughny.net/payrolls/

People leave NY once they retire, move to Florida etc. The massive amounts of retirees(who generally move, collect a pension and dont pay taxes anymore) and city workers that are being supported by everyone living within NYC is a reason why its so expensive.

NYC is expensive because the demand to live there is high and people are willing to roommate or do whatever it takes to stay out there.

Of course, that's part of it. And luckily NYC has a high influx of very wealthy people living there- supporting the city(hipsters with rich parents, whatever). They vote democrat because it makes no difference who's in office to them and so forth as they have so much money anyways.

Rent control is also archaic and fukks a lot of stuff up for younger people trying to make a living.

The demand is the biggest part of it and it will always be in any location you look at. If people start leaving NYC in droves then they have no option but to bring prices down. The whole retirees argument doesn't hold much weight in NYC because the majority of the people living out there rent properties and at worst the old are being replaced with the young...the taxes are still being paid in one way or another. An argument can be made that older people who are retired are probably worse for the city because they are no longer working for that money and are usually in such a tight financial situation that they spend less than the younger people like @88m3 who like to chase pawgs across Brooklyn bars.

The elderly also frequent hospitals for check-ups, make more of the ambulance calls, and often need assistance from the government to get by. Them leaving a big city like New York, Chicago, or L.A. is best for the city and for themselves. They get to go down to Florida to enjoy the warmer weather and the city gets to rent out to a younger person who has years of productivity to put into the city to keep it going 24/7

Living in Lexington, KY for the past 6 years I have seen rent Skyrocket from about $285 in the cheapest places...to over $450. There are even some locations downtown that are passing the 1K mark, which was only reserved for mansion type properties that were available to rent. Any decent place is now about $700 per month. This is all because of demand and no sign of slowing down even with the economic problems this country has.
