I'd guess if this we're to happen( a regional pay scale) you'd see a lot of owners attempting to sell immediately and a lot less demand for these franchises. There'd definitely be residual consequences, ultimately streaming down to the individual workers.
I doubt it frankly, they're incredibly easy to operate without much personal interaction from the owner. A lot of these franchises are like having your own printing press. It's nothing like owning a restaurant, which is much more challenging and time consuming.
at them for asking for 15 per hour? They KNOW they're not gonna get that. It's called a starting point in negotiation. Starting high leaves more room for improvement and to get something they can atleast live on. Just like with health care reform in the very beginning, people were throwing around single payer, and starting at that point got us what we have now. You have to start high.
