No one likes the authority I give metacritic, but outside a few games it's pretty accurate. I mean look at that PS3 list. It's pretty accurate.Nah fam..theres plenty of great games that didnt score too high...take Silent Hill on PS1 for instance...shyt did OK ratings wise I remember like it was yesterday..but its a classic in every sense of the word...problem is even then...games that scored lower than 8.5 werent looked at as a problem...people still bought and enjoyed the games and they are what made the demand for franchises n shyt...ratings werent end all be all unless they were completely terrible...
I clearly don't use it to base my purchases on, but it does provide a good barometer. I mean I have nearly 500 steam games and there is no way in hell all those got 85s or higher. shyt I recently bought borderlands the pre sequel and ass creed unity, and both those games scored in the 70s.
An aggregate of Reviews is pretty accurate, outside a few instances of course. Yes sometimes they get it wrong, but that's what you have user reviews for.
I'll continue to stand by my metacritic stance; it's a great barometer of the quality of game. I buy a shytload of games, so it's not stopping me there. It's just helping me buy a little less. I like meta analyses in science and I like metacritic for the exact same reasons.
