If you don't want to play the game after that trailer, it's something wrong with you.
One thing I will say is that the game is CLEARLY an extension of FC3. My take on that is......IT SHOULD BE. Especially if the game is successful and ESPECIALLY if people like the game. I get the skepticism though. If you think a company is simply rehashing the same sh!t over and over again, you typically don't want any part of that. But most games, especially when they are sequels or a series, do it and have been doing it for quite some time. All I ask is that each time out, they show improvements and hopefully, like in this case, put me in a place that's different, but feels familiar to some degree. Obviously if they drop the same thing over and over again it can become stale, so yeah, I do expect a higher degree of change in Far Cry 5, but damn, how about we enjoy FC4 even if it looks like FC3.5.
In that video with the fat dude, my goodness he was a terrible player. He says he enjoyed FC3, but he didn't even know how to handle alarms. Yeah, you can get through FC3 without taking out the alarms, but damn, why do that to yourself? Then dude started shooting that rhino then just stood there. When you see them actually playing the game, it does look a LOT like FC3. Hopefully though, and I couldn't really tell from the videos, the enemy AI will offer a better challenge or use different tactics. And is it just me, or does that bait aspect look way overpowered? Instead of it just spawning an animal, to make the game a bit more balanced, they should have it to where an animal actually has to be close by. Or they could make it where more random animals will attack you if you are carrying around a bunch of meat in your bag, whereas if you don't carry any, most times they won't bother you. The tradeoff being with the meat you have more "firepower" so to speak than without it. They said that there would be more animal encounters, so if that is the case, you'll have meat for days. If I can just toss out chunks of steakums and wait for a tiger to pop up with no consequences other than it takes up space in my bag, that seems like it will take the fun out of the game. So that's something I'll have to keep my eye on. I do like the addition of the throwing knifes and the hostage rescuse side missions. But I do want to see something that makes the game it's own unique experience. Even if it's just to a small degree. Hopefully being able to choose a faction will be that something. We'll see.
