what I mean is there's no reason to even own an xbone. if all its exclusives are on PC, you might as well put that money towards a proper gaming PC

No one really knows Xbox strategic direction in terms of what they want to do. It has looked to me like they are desperately trying to replicate the success of steam. I think the idea is that they hit on something big with the subscription service model and be the first to lead the change to the next evolution of the gaming industry. That won't happen. Just as the subscription level games were getting more and more popular, the market decided it wanted to go the opposite direction with going back to the classic single player way of gaming (of course with updated gaming tropes). The industry is like that, it sways back and forth. Sony stuck to their guns and did what they do best and it's paying off. They're not worried about following trends, as they see things can change in an instant. As soon as Microsoft started going in that direction with subscription based modeling, the public decided that it didn't want Microsoft to do that. So now he's saying that they will begin producing single player IPs again. I don't believe him. They have had a lot of time to get sea of thieves right and they fukked that up. State of Decay 2 may be a good hit for the this year, but that's not enough.
They are getting further and further behind with these idiotic and flimsy caprice driven decisions. Phil comes off as a con artist who will do anything to chase short term success and money without having a solid plan. Much like his decisions, everything Microsoft does is half assed. Their brand is hurting BAD and the reputation is getting worse and worse by the day.

Microsoft never had any games that I wanted to play so I never got a damn Xbox...
Sony has better games and always did.

They sacrificed long lasting gaming experiences w/ games that you play with people and characters that you'll never remember. its not rocket science. Sony and Nintendo knows this...Halo 1-3 were successful not only because it great co-op and multiplayer but had a amazing campaign and story, Same w/ gears...when they said fukk it lets put short-change the single player experience for multiplayer it all went down hill.
Xbox live don't even feel the same anymore, halo 2-3 lobbies before the match started were a good way have a little connection to the ppl u were playing, shyt was fun and jokes until the racism and kids killed it. Online multiplayer games don't feel like that magical anymore and will probably never will. Give me a dope story and experience over some brainless micro-transaction generator.

MS, for whatever reason, doesn't want to take the risk to really fund the Xbox division and give them the means to create more first party studios and game offerings. They are seemingly satisfied with the status quo since they are profitable.
No they're just lazy and want to do it without effort. Hence why they tried to buy the pubg dev.
Sony started to really build their game studious during the ps3 days and now they are reaping the benefits , while
all microsoft did was buy exclusives left and right from 3rd party studios. That strategy would have kept working for them
if their were market leader but those days are gone. They would have to cough up a lot of money in order to secure an exclusive
since that 3rd party studio would miss out on the ps4 large install base.
