The Chicago Bulls are gearing up for a big free agent push of some sort—exactly who they’ll be targeting on July 1 is still unclear—but according to theNY Daily News, the Bulls’ star point guard prefers they attempt to work out a trade for Minnesota’s Kevin Love over trying to sign Carmelo Anthony:

Derrick Rose hasn’t called Anthony once and isn’t expected to do any recruiting when the Bulls make their run at the Knicks’ top scorer in free agency.


According to sources close to Kevin Love, Rose’s preference is for the Bulls to work out a deal as soon as possible for Minnesota’s All-Star forward because he sees Love as more of a team player than Anthony. Chicago is in the mix with Golden State for Love, with Boston and Denver considered long shots. If it makes any difference to Melo, Rose has no plans to recruit Love, who is free next summer, either. But the Bulls already know whom he’d really prefer to play with in the future.

The article highlighted the fact he aint recruiting Love either but we have heard the oppose of that a few days ago with "sources" in regards to Melo.

Why would Rose sabotage that effort?

That's Love's camp desperately trying to get Love outta Minny. They see these other deals falling apart, know we got the assets to possibly get it done, but since we're focused on Melo, they tryna throw salt and get back in the mix

Every report last week said the entire organization want Melo. Fast forward a week and its looking like Love might be stuck in Minny this season so they start throwing shade

15 milly to me is more than enough. He can make up the rest with endorsements. Imagine what melo being in chicago will do for the jordan brand. They should kick in a few extra million by going to this market and selling his shoes.

I think the 1 shot the bulls have of getting melo to take 15-17 mill is if lebron wade and bosh all take significant paycuts to get more guys on the roster. Looks a certain way if the best player in the world lebron takes 15 mill and they add Kyle Lowry but melo joining the bulls straining the bulls cap so they can't at least have they exceptions to add a couple guys. If melo drops down to 15-16 mill we could possibly add afflao have 1 pick and a rmle exception to add to the roster. Rather than melo demanding 20 mill and we lose all of the exceptions and picks.
