True :ehh:
In the 80s it was Magic/Bird/ Kareem
In the 90s it was Jordan
In the 00s it was Shaq/Kobe
Now we in the 20s

kareem was moreso the '70s.

kobe was never THAT guy like that.

Already in that rarified air. Nobody besides MJ has his personal and team accolades and goat level stats.

bill russell would like to have a word with you.

But Kobe/Shaq at least had a rival (Spurs).

But they did play the Nets twice and A.I. + scrubs to get those 3 rings together.

and this is another thing that irks me.
when did it become kobe/shaq?? it was shaq AND kobe. not the other way around.

and i agreed with bul about giving shaq the 2000s. i just said that kobe shouldnt be up there.

lebron's teams had rivals as well - spurs included.

It doesn't matter... in 20 years another guy will come along and they'll proclaim him as GOAT

yep

its gona be a lil different tho, cuz the more modern legends have more outlets & media conditioning to keep their legacy alive, unlike the goats who pre-dated david stern.

MJ having Pippen shouldn’t be used against MJ, especially considering you can make the argument that Wade/AD>>>Pippen. Pippen might have fit the bulls system and fit Jordan as a running mate better than Wade, but 2011 Wade was still a top 5 NBA player and was already regarded as one of the greats all time at his position. AD is considered a top 3 Big man in today’s game and probably a top 5 player. I’d make the argument for LeBron just simply based on what he can do with any kinda team. He fills so many gaps, so his game is malleable to any franchise. He did it with Wade and Bosh in Miami. Then did it with a different kinda score-first combo guard in Kyrie and Love in Cleveland. Then he did it with AD and company in LA.

pippen >>> wade

As a Teammate to MJ specifically and a perfect fit in that system? Sure. Player vs Player overall? Nah.

why are you trying so hard to paint scottie pippen as a system player??
system players arent drafted 5th overall coming from central arkansas of all places.

also, wade is a bit overrated.

Pip isn’t a system player. His talents and what he accomplished were maximized by playing in that system alongside MJ. Pip would be a great player on any team. He was just able to maximize his career goals playing in the triangle. And he fit better playing alongside MJ helping him out, than Wade did playing alongside LeBron. I still think Wade was better.

Two more rings to get 6 I think 7 rings would cement it via a 3 peat
idc about finals losses
why does a finals loss matter more than any other playoff loss
