I didn’t realize so many people are conscious of their salt intake.

Pretty interesting.

If you're black, watching your salt intake might be even more important than watching your fat or sugar intake. I'm not sure if it's genetics or something in the environment, but for whatever reason black people tend to be more sensitive to sodium intake than other groups and it causes a bigger rise in blood pressure.

Unfortunately salt is also the hardest thing to cut back on :francis: it's easy to cut sugar or fat or calories but almost everything is high in sodium

Good shopping list here.

I couldn’t do apple cider vinegar. I don’t like any kind of vinegar. Unless I’m cooking. It’s good for some things.

When people offer you food, just say you ate already. Or you have a very specific diet that you don’t like to break. Honestly people should just respect that.
Apple Cider Vinegar was rough at first, but because I only drink water and every now and then I have a taste for something different it quinches my thirst.

A lot of my food choices come from me just being a lazy ass cook. I like being able to put food on, walk away and do something else, then a buzzer will go off to let me know it's done.

I ain't tryna have the stove on medium-low, then flip it over but medium high now. :mjtf:

My rice cooker and air fryer get used the most in my kitchen.

I been on my journey for a few years now.

I learned how to cook initially to save money. But def got health benefits as well. I meal prep

My only food vice is bread…if it was up to me I would make a sandwich every day for lunch and dinner
This is my problem too. I can't stay away from pizza and sandwiches

Im almost there, but If I could cut this out, I could have the body I want

Problem with pizza is that it’s all carbs and fat and salt.

You don’t get much fiber or protein. And those are the two things that go farthest toward making you feel full.

That’s why it’s easy to eat 3, 4, 5+ slices of pizza.

Eat what you need, first and foremost

In quantity (calories) and quality (nutrients)

More often than not there is too much carbs for our sedentary lifestyles and not enough vegetables

It’s funny. If I make broccoli at home it’s terrible.

If I get Chinese food the broccoli is outright delicious.
Spray em with some extra virgin olive oil, then hit em with some black pepper, sea salt, mrs dash seasoning, cayenne pepper, and a lil bit of garlic powder, put em in one of those containers where there is a small flip lid in the middle , and.throw that in the microwave for 9mins. :wow:

Why?

I only have ginger when I am sick because I’ll get tea that has it.

But it stings the throat (that’s what she said) so I don’t like it.

Health benefits but really the flavor is amazing. It can be great with smoothies or regular dishes. It's more of a subtle flavor as long as you don't add too much.

Fresh broccoli?
I’m assuming fresh.

You ever buy the frozen broccoli? You try to cook it and it’s a sad, soggy mess.

Years ago I would add it when I was making fresh juices. I have a juicer. But it rarely gets used anymore because it’s annoying to clean.

The biggest key for me when i was dropping weight was cutting out liquid sugar

Lemonade and Beer used to kill me, now i have those once in a blue moon.
