I learned how to cook initially to save money. But def got health benefits as well. I meal prep

My only food vice is bread…if it was up to me I would make a sandwich every day for lunch and dinner
Do you live in America?
I only ask because bread in this country sucks.

I’m jealous of people in Europe or the Caribbean/South America. Their bread is so much better.

I hate cooking so I stick with shyt that's easy.

I have a rice cooker, air fryer for my chicken breast, and a pot to cook ground turkey.

I try not to snack at all. Meaning I make sure to have full meals.

Basmati Rice
Black beans
Black eyed peas
Grond Turkey
Chicken
Salmon
Apples
Bananas
Variety of Veggies

The food I eat pretty much every day is rice, ground turkey and black beans.

I cook in bulk and use a measuring cup to portion out my meals.

I only drink water and unsweetened tea with lemon juice and apple cider vinegar.

Sidenote: How do ya'll deal with not sounding rude when someone offers you food? I've been in that situation too many times when someone cooks something, I turn it down and they are offended.

I've always been thin so I'm really not worried about calorie counting or portions too much :yeshrug: not everybody has weight problems

That said, I do try to watch my sodium intake to some extent, have a strong family history of hypertension and heart disease. Usually instead of sodium I season my food with this -

Gluten and dairy are two things most people live for because they provide an opiate like hit:

My main reason for ditching it was A) I switch my livit up all the time to see how it changes my mind and life and B) I feel so much better without it.

Wheat and dairy are really not that bad but what they've done to them in terms of biz is what causes the damage. Some say it causes inflammation and other symptoms people associate with aging and others say the flip but in my experience my mindbody runs a lot better without em. Actually fish and veg is the cheat code to lean mass and the rest but it gets boring quick and the smell of the sea lingers in your place of residence if its an all day, every day thing.

By far the easiest to digest and that is what should be at the top of anyones list because the body is constantly on its destroy and rebuild steez:

That and rest. Also check your cookware and containers as all that stuff can cause endocrine disruption which makes training and food worthless if you are ignoring the main problems that mess your hormones up from within.

What kind of fish do you like?

Good shopping list here.

I couldn’t do apple cider vinegar. I don’t like any kind of vinegar. Unless I’m cooking. It’s good for some things.

When people offer you food, just say you ate already. Or you have a very specific diet that you don’t like to break. Honestly people should just respect that.

get that “I eat for function and not for taste” mentality.

I eat the same foods everyday to the point where it’s just routine. Cheat day on Sunday. fukk a cheat meal, I take the whole day.
I do the same, chicken or fish during the week and whatever the fukk I want on Saturday/Sunday.

Thats the other issue that made me bench it because of mercury levels, label switching and the farming practices but when I did eat it a lot it was mainly small and local from the ocean on my doorstep. Worth trying though, will make you feel awesome just include a handful of cilantro each day as it helps chelate any heavy metals present if used in combination with a sauna and a few other bits and bobs thrown in to make it all effective.

chicken rice and broccoli is pretty widespread

its just boring

the alternative, cooking for uniques and flavor is real hard to juggle with not going overboard

I didn’t realize so many people are conscious of their salt intake.

Pretty interesting.

Yes I do. a lot of bakeries that supply restaurants will sell to the public too..so when I go out to eat or grab a sandwich at a cafe or something I’ll ask someone who works there if the make their bread in-house (super rare) or buy from outside. If they buy it I’ll just google their provider and go from there.

It’s funny. If I make broccoli at home it’s terrible.

If I get Chinese food the broccoli is outright delicious.

I'd disagree with the latter and would never do the former as its just too bland. Youtube makes it so easy to learn as you can get real authentic recipes in a click from people around the world so its flavor season. Pun intended.

BTW everyone should eat fresh ginger every day. Especially if you're male.

Why?

I only have ginger when I am sick because I’ll get tea that has it.

But it stings the throat (that’s what she said) so I don’t like it.
