FOH. If an MC is worthy of being called "the best", "one of the best," "legend," or "best rapper alive," he usually has quotables for days. Great MC's drop quotables, period. Don't move the goalposts if your favorite MC doesn't qualify.

Exactly. nikkas was not having "best opening bars" discussions before someone (I think it was Phonte) made a post on myspace chronicling Prodigy's career and stating that he has the most memorable opening lines in rap history.
The deeper issue is that its likes Kendrick fans desperately want this nikka to be the most perfectest MC of all time when in fact he's far from it. the man has his limitations. its not hating...its honest critiques. Nas aint the best at varying his flow. Hov ain't the best storyteller or with the content. Drake dont write all his shyt. Cole sounds boring. eminem (nowadays) tries too hard. it is what it is nikka

Second, how are we defining quotables? Is it bars the majority of people know, or just dope lines that you think could be quotables?
I’m a huge P fan and The Infamous is a undeniable classic, but are you sure the majority of hip hop heads can name the quotables P had on there besides shock ones? Maybe some 90s heads from New York but outside of that I doubt it.
Off the top of your head how many quotables can you name from 3000, or Scarface? This is a really dumb argument. How did this even gain traction?
