Yeah, other than an episode or two, the show was always on its game. Had it lasted five or six seasons, it probably would have started to fall off.

For some reason the only episodes that are just meh for me were Chris in high school with football player Walter dikkerson (except the one where Chris tries to get with Maria & she has Chris help her make a cake for dikkerson), as it rubs me the wrong way how badly dikkerson treated Chris when he should've took him under his wing & put Chris up on game.

I like the show. It's funny, witty, acted well.
However, it's what I like to call 'Downtrodden Porn'.
Chris hardly ever caught a break at anything. Every downtrodden black trope (as well as just plain downtrodden trope) ever. Even the most unlucky people on the planet seem to have more good luck than him. I notice with a lot of Yank comedies is it can have a strange mean-spiritedness about them.

The black 'poverty and downtrodden porn' in tv shows is way beyond played out.
I'm not saying that the downtrodden and poverty shouldn't be address but balance it out with other (positive) themes for which black people can aspire too.

Was looking at this and realize it was made in the right era. But some things are noticeable in term of shock value (lack of better phrase)
