Every now and then someone says Madvillainy was a classic. That album had no impact.

Bro said it has no impact because "it didn't have any impact on the culture"

:pachaha:

So, hella ppl can't just fw the album heavily I see :skip:

Any time someone mention "the culture" in this context what they saying is that it got no value because it never received widespread mainstream acceptance. Never mind widespread mainstream acceptance usually mean catering to casual listeners and having a label spend a lot of money on recording budgets and P&A. Not the best way to judge the quality of an album or any other artform.

Sound sound sound
Whenever I heard this album first time I heard it in a different sequencing (i don’t remember why..were we downloading music then?)

But I thought the shyt was an instrumental album so I stopped listening :dead:

I circled back later and enjoyed it

I said in another thread about this album is that it's set the standard for 2-verse songs. There were many hip hop songs with 2 verses before this album, but it's the first one I remember that every song was only 2 verses. I remember people complaining on the forums back then about each song being too short and now damn near every album is filled with only 2-verse songs. Can someone name an album prior to this that every song was only 2 verses? Unless you want to count Vaudeville Villain album and that's still MF Doom

doom is crazy overrated (i blame the internet) but his work speaks for itself. im a fan but hes not in my top 10 or anything

that interview that came out before he died about how he didnt care about music anymore was really depressing

something about this kind of music attracts the most smug people... i dunno who wrote this, but the pretentiousness of the writing is off the charts
