Rush is purely a rotational guy- they prolly gonna have him drop a few pounds. Its Young, the really tall guy from Iowa but not alot of stand out players- of course there is alway someone under the radar- I will probably start checking out soon. After Sidney Jones I would be cool on red flags to but if he declares and falls a little in the draft and you draft a solid safety already- I would draft him to because he is that talented. Soon you will need 2 safeties- why not take 2 if they are there. I see you are sleeping on the FCS guy- trust me- after he plays in the Senior Bowl, his name will pop up alot more

I'm not necessarily sleeping on the FCS guy, I just am thinking about the first 2 rounds right now and where we can get some impact. When it comes to 3rd round a beyond, you are more and more in the crapshoot territory. If the FCS safety is a legit prospect for the first two rounds, and he can come in immediately and not only be the 3rd safety for Schwartz, he can also legitimately be the next starter, I'm all for it. If he is just a backup and ST guy, nah, I'm sleep lol.

This off-season, the team and the fan base can lie to each other about what we need and what we don't. So focusing on impact if its there, has to be the move. Once I get a handle on who can/should be there and who I want/will settle for with the first two picks, then I'll look at the depth of the draft. So i'll be paying attention to who you highlight.

My bad breh, I know you do your due diligence and that's why I ask. I'm still mentally all over the place. All this beer isn't helping. :russ:

Just intoxicated thoughts.... I wonder how things change if gym shorts is fired. Does a blitz heavy guy become a focus and therefore the importance on corners being bigger. I don't even know what I want.:flabbynsick:

Couple of things

Look at Godwin,l from the bucs, dude had a shyt rookie year then made that jump. Could he have a similar jump? Maybe

I would like for them to take a WR still within the first two rounds

I like that kid for Colorado

I still want Groh Gone, I'm still on the fence about Schwartz. I think it's time we get a new voice in that role

I hope we retain Mccown on the coaching staff, dude has a excellent mind and read that he really helped Carson and offense this season. Not as an OC but as an assistant

If the money is right, I'll have mills back

I like the Mills-Maddox and strap in the slot combo

That's it for now.

I think Jim aint going anywhere...despite the recent success- I still think Groh maybe let go. If Jim is still here...they will retool DT but Jim has to do better with how he deploys his safeties and corners

you like Mills? I would try and replace Mills at all costs...He is a FA and he should be cheap but they have to draft a faster CB or 2- there are too many good corners to not bring in some competition. I like Leblanc but he is a slot corner and so is Maddox...Maddox is just so small with short arms- its hard to compete with taller- physical outside WR- but he is smart and moves so well- if you could combine Leblanc and Maddox- you have the perfect slot CB

the one difference in JJ and Godwin...Godwin at least has some speed to lean on...JJ is slow..average vertical...and cant run routes correctly- but I hope he can prove me wrong

It's love hate with mills, just with the free agents we have and Sul and Jones still trying to be consistent. It's a safe option.

With JJ, he looks lost then made some good catches. He could be a bust.Just trying to be more positive.

Maddox is more a jack of all trades type player, but still inconsistent.

JJ will at worst be WR4 caliber but we really need him to be a WR2 or WR3.

The kid from Colorado or the kid from TCU are 2 receivers who should be available at 21.

Squad really was on borrowed time with the body bag list we accumulated, sucks Carson went down so early but there's no guarantee we win even if he avoids that hit. Russ did his thing, salute to him.

We have our QB, LT, LG, C, RG, RT, TE duo, and backfield all intact. I was against letting Peters walk the past few years when there was no clear cut heir apparent, but Dillard's a legit prospect and flashed more than enough in his starts this year. Gotta move forward with him and let the OG go elsewhere if that's what he wants to do. I'm open to bringing back Howard too, but whether or not he returns Miles is the lead back and Boston's earned a role as well.

DeSean's gonna be back and still has juice in the tank but we can't go into 2020 with him being the only explosion at WR. Whether it's Ruggs, Reagor, or whoever, they need a burner that can learn behind DeSean and have a package on offense from day one regardless. Ward earned the right to fight for the slot role, and all we can do is hope JJ and Carson find a rhythm this offseason. Whatever we get from Alshon in 2020 is house money, we have to operate like he's not gonna be around, can't rely on him recovering from that foot injury at all.

Really don't know which direction to go in on defense. I was 100% ready to move on from Mills (and Darby) this time last year, but the kids completely fell apart in his absence, and other than the Dolphins game he held his own this season. It's that "grass isn't always greener" conundrum, if he and McLeod both leave in FA we could be due for a rough year on that side. Rasul is what he is, but Sidney finally turning that August hype into actual production would solve a lot of these issues.
