Ur basing this off of hypothesis of what will happen. Big clubs can right their ship easier than smaller clubs. Man U is not beating chelsea 6 games all the time.

I rather see the best teams grouped together than the current system.

But they're not the best teams! Tottenham and Man City have never won the Champions League. Arsenal haven't qualified for the CL in 5 years. Bayern won the CL last year and they're not in it. Atalanta, one of the most entertaining teams of the last few years, beat Juventus yesterday and made it farther in the Champions League last year than Juventus has in almost a decade. Juve is in the Super League, Atalanta will never be.

This isn't a competition of the best teams, it's a competition of the teams with the biggest checkbooks. It means the sport is no longer a meritocracy. It'd be like Duke making the tournament every year regardless of record.

Weren't people on this board complaining that Ohio State got into the playoffs off rep instead of results? How is this not clear to them?

The sport has been dying from a fan perspective for a while anyway - this just the natural progression.

UEFA the heroes now when everyone was going in on them for taking bribes and having a slavers World Cup but now the World Cup is sacred again.

FIFA and individual FAs heroes now when tv money has exploded for the top leagues and creating massive disadvantages for lower league teams for years already.

Bayern heroes for not joining when they’ve won like 10 leagues in a row based on financial advantages and buy any good player on any other German team when they need to.

City were the enemy for getting foreign investment when the premier league had already been run by the original big 3/4 nearly every year since its inception.

Super League is trash, but to act like the current structure is some holy cow that hasn’t already been being tampered with is disingenuous .

I kind of want to see what's going to happen. I really enjoy the fanfare I've experienced, even as an American. I dunno, I feel like they need to flesh out more details on this super league.

I do wonder, if players decide not to play, how does that work with their contract?

Pretty much sums up my view on it

"The difference between American sports and English football is that jeopardy. The feeling anyone can do something magical. Those stories don't exist in American sport and that is why I love watching English sport. It is more sterile in America and I hate to see English football if that is what we are looking at in the future.

Im talking about the best teams from their domestic leagues, not the CL. CL in itself is kind of a super league, thats why they are opposed to this

This is a weird perspective though since in the top level there’s way more parity in American sports than just about every top level European league. The stories in Europe leagues are in the lower divisions or a “miracle” cup run or something. There’s like one truly shocking league win at the top level once every 30 years or something.
