Im talking about the best teams from their domestic leagues, not the CL. CL in itself is kind of a super league, thats why they are opposed to this

But Arsenal and Tottenham are not part of the best teams in England. They're not even going to finish in the top 5 this season. Leicester will, and they won a title in 2015. But Leicester will never be part of the Super League because they can't generate revenue like those two London clubs.

This is a weird perspective though since in the top level there’s way more parity in American sports than just about every top level European league. The stories in Europe leagues are in the lower divisions or a “miracle” cup run or something. There’s like one truly shocking league win at the top level once every 30 years or something.

Leicester winning it a few years ago. United and arsenal not really competing last few years are all stories. This will ruin the game once I heard these teams talking about fielding their shytty teams for the premier league games and playing their best players for the midweek european games. Also if this was to go ahead the best players would be banned from international football :snoop:

Looking at the details and the confidence of the owners the planning of this took atleast 12 to 18 months. No way they are going for it extempore. Covid and no fans has helped them so much

If you have not attended a European game in person and you have not experienced the actual sport in person, if you are for this proposal you need to shut the fukk up.

It's called the beautiful game for a reason. There is no legend of the game that has come out in support of this. This is all driven by money suits (a significant proportion of whom are Americans).

Glad to see most of football come out against this. It's been a PR disaster for the suits... Let's see if this comes to fruit. I doubt it.

The thing I don‘t understand is people using the argument of "people only care for the quote Big Clubs unquote anyways". This is just... not true? Like, it may be true for American or Asian fans of the game, but the last (regular) Bundesliga season had an average attendance of 43'500 people. 38k for the EPL. And that‘s not just the big 6 teams playing, that‘s everyone! There are A LOT of people caring for the other 16/14 teams.

People keep talking about tottenham and arsenal, it doesn't matter if they're shyt right now. If they're getting a higher degree of revenue, and the biggest stage in the world, they're going to be able to buy much greater talent.

When you have a league filled with the best players in the world, talent is going to gravitate towards it.

My concern is whether some of the teams would even spend the money on talent. They'll be content sitting at the bottom of the league and raking in cash, along with not spending any money. The no relegation aspect takes the incentive away to spend.
