None of those countries listed by the Red Cross or the FDA are named Ethiopia. Canadian Blood Services also only restricts indefinite deferrals to " Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Niger and Nigeria."

Maybe due to the desire to be logically consistent. If someone from Niger cannot give blood (and they can't in the US or Canada), than someone from Ethiopia shouldn't either since they're 2.5X more likely to have AIDS (than someone from Niger).
There is no doubt that the policy needs to be revisited, but the only racism here is coming from Israel's critics. Israel also bars blood from British people due to mad cow disease

I got my stats from verified sources. He has a clear agenda and that news station used his affiliation with the "founders of Israel" as the basis to his credibility.
