UHHH how does the B12 decide a conference champion today? :yeshrug:

how did the B10 decide a champion before their championship game along with the SEC and other conferences?

just go by conference records as been the case for the last 100 years
Conference record when all the teams don't play each other?

Come on man, you should be better than this.

You are skipping over expansion and the shyt ton of money some conferences make with those games. They aren't just going to let that revenue go.

You can dream up ideas all you want but every time you eliminate a revenue stream you better have a replacement.

I'm sayin breh... who gets NYE off? :dwillhuh:

Not network engineers :mjcry:

Lot's of people are off, the issue is they're either buying cars, shopping, already drunk or planning their evening or at church.

They don't care to watch football then.

Also you don't get vacation breh? you can't schedule the time off in advance and just be oncall if need be

that's another issue that can be solved by playing conference round robin or just play a set amount.

for example in 2003, MIchigan won the B10 by playing only 8 conference games in a league of 11 teams, so they didn't play 2 conference foes.

First of all, 12 is insane.

8 is ceiling.

4 is perfect.

4 is good if you kill the big 12 or acc. I mention the acc because it is most easily absorbed into big ten and sec

4 conference champions get into the playoffs, face each other, then a title game. Period. Nothing else...no committees, all settled on the field.

If you want it "more fair" and want 8 (ironic because any system with polls or committees is inherant bias) then 4 champs and 4 at large.

But its broken as long as there is an odd number of power conferences.

The acc should die. It sounds like sacrilege but let Miami, Clemson, FSU, etc become sec schools and let BC, duke, UNC, ND, PITT, etc become B1G schools. They both reestablish rivalries geographically and the big ten becomes the GOAT basketball conference as a result.

Until YOU CAN 100% PLAY INTO a title its all moot and fugazi to a level

TYRONE GA!
you can still have "conference champion". I'm saying just eliminate the actual conference championship "game" for all conferences. As of today not all conferences even play 1 so it's not equal today.

That's not happening. 100% sure of that.

The conference title games are going NOWHERE.

Fair enough but until you replace the $.......

This ain't got legs.

Further head coaches don't want it to expand this much........

B12 isn't getting $$ from those games and they're still are here, they not hurting so other conferences won't be hurting either.

Think of it like this.
Each conference eliminates OOC foes (no longer need to impress people with OOC wins with a 12 team field) and plays a 12 game conference schedule (all conferences would be mandated to have 16 teams).
12 game regular season (all against conference foes) 1 bye week, then if you're lucky enough you get selected for the 12 team playoff.

for example, your bulldogs would play a 12 game schedule like this

1. at Kentucky
2. at Ole Miss
3. vs Arksansas
4. at Tenn
5. vs Missouri
6. vs South Carolina
7. At Florida
8. Bye
9. vs LSU
10. at Vandy
11. at Miss State
12. vs Texam A&M
13. vs Auburn

that works

IMO this is the ultimate example of corporate "smartest guy in the room" culture. Some guy, or group of guys, convinced very powerful people that it was a good idea to hold two football games on NYE which isn't an officially recognized holiday. People get off work on NYE and immediately start looking to head out - either to party or chill or to the bar. Yet they managed to convince advertisers and ESPN it would be cool. I bet they hired a firm to do a "study" to prove people would watch the game.

They compared it to Thanksgiving, but anyone who is actually a regular human being knows Thanksgiving and NYE are entirely different lmao
:mjlol:

What do yall do on Thanksgiving? Let me guess: go to a family member's house, lounge around while you wait for the food to be done, and watch football n movies.

Who goes to a family member's house on NYE lmao? I was out trying to get my dikk wet, like most dudes. Then I chilled with some friends. Saw some of the Alabama/MSU game.

I would think most people just suck it up and work during the day,and then get off and start their plans for the night time parties :jawalrus:.

It's laughable to expect people to schedule time off for a College Football playoff game like it's the fukking Super Bowl or some shyt.:mjlol:

Lol if you schedule the entire week off it encompasses those games anyway. When you schedule vacation from work you don't take week(s) off at a time

Not enough people are off to make it worth scheduling a game for that time period. Its one thing when you schedule NBA games on MLK day, yeah most people have to work but its a regular season NBA game, there are plenty of those. Its another when you schedule playoff games on a day most adults have to work.

B12 isn't getting $$ from those games and they're still are here, they not hurting so other conferences won't be hurting either.

So basically you eliminate non-conference rivalries in college football. Yeah, thats not gonna go over well at all.
