Yeah first off Turks as a group aren’t even that religious. I known a few over the years and they are mostly secular. Especially Endrogan who runs Turkey.

Turkey was doing campaign finance bribes to him by strawman donating to his campaign for political favors.

The first favor was to get the building inspectors to sign off on the Turkish Consulate without doing a real inspection. A small favor but I am sure more favors would have been asked for later.

I don’t think people remember because it was years ago, but after he got elected he did a world tour a lot of those countries are the 6 seen so far in the investigation. He probably went in person to set these deals up and like most cases of trickle down leadership everyone around him was running their own scams.

You know this means nothing, right? This is the typical persecution complex defense that people use when caught to try to explain away their very real crimes and frame themselves as victims being targeted for political reasons. This is something he always does. I know your first instinct is to blame Harris for something, but come on. Do you truly believe what he's saying?

They were reportedly looking into whether the Adams campaign took illegal donations in exchange for pressuring the FDNY to approve a new Turkish consulate in Manhattan, despite safety concerns.
