What is the best way to get Brolic if your a skinny nicca like me.....in terms of nutrition....any East African style dishes you can recommend that can beef you up?I'm just familiar with Jamaican and American food...

Do you know what the hip hop scene is like in Eastern Africa? Or music in general Any acts you would recommend....I think Goapele, Sade, and Fela Kuti are the only African music artists I know of....

Why West African women seem like they get those bodies without efforts but we men have to kill ourselves physically to get great bodies :wtf: :what:

Do you think President Obama's "Power Africa" initiative should have been focused more on East Africa?

1. Good question. I dunno how easy it'll be to find but brehs over there use "Beso" which is organic ground barley its usually mixed into drinks, it's used in bodybuilding or just to fill you up it does make you feel kinda strong when you drink it. I make it with cane sugar, milk, hot water, and two types of cinnamon it tastes like a healthy milkshake. Aside from that, tibbs(grilled steak strips) is good for that, shifiraw(moringa) is also used. There are lots of things but you gotta know people to get the stuff, I'll look up more stuff for you in regards to this.

2. lol, honestly I don't know about East African Hip Hop there are rappers but I'm too Americanized to give'em a chance I won't even lie. The more popular Ethiopian music is a reggae hybrid, only Habesha rappers I fukk with is Nipsey Hussle, Sandman Negus, and the incomperable Ras Nebyu. I listen to Fela more than any African artist, even my own family members. :heh:

3. lol, I think you mean West African men. Their diets plus the day to day physical activities make them naturally yoked up. If you do mean the women then, well that's just part of the price of being a man my nikka. Bad bytches don't gotta work as hard for their bodies like nikkaz got to, it doesn't matter if you swole or not if you got the mouthpiece of if having a nice physical appearance is your aim then it takes more work physically than it does for a chick.

4. Nah, when the Abay Dam is done we're gonna be selling electricity to the whole region and we're making moves for geo-thermal as well. My environmentalist side hates it, but Ethiopia is about to be an oil producer. Problem is that oil is in the Ogaden, meaning Somalis are gonna have problems. Oil almost always equals trouble, I don't like what I'm reading coming out of that region of Ethiopia. But yeah, we don't need shyt from Obama fukk that nikka. :heh:

Do you find it strange that Cars and smartphones are something East Africa or Africa in general have not focused on...just something I've been thinking about....out of everyone...I mean South Korea is killing it with Samsung....Germany as always with Volkswagon, Porsche,etc....

I know we are behind in everything but in particular cars/smartphones is something I've been thinking about....U noticed that shyt :patrice:

Anyway the question is do you think we should buckle down and try to get in that field?

eyes-5.jpg

lmfao. :dead:

We the type to stick our neck out for yall so we need a lot of neck for that, and we got them eyes cuz we only see fly shyt in our world. Don't ask me how.
Do you believe that the Queen of Sheba existed and that she was the Empress of Ethiopia?

Yes and Yes.

There's evidence in the very ancient cities in Ethiopia like Axum and Yeha, for example certain temples have writings in the extinct Sabean script/language which was the language of Saba which is where Queen Sheba is from. More or less, the Axumite and Pre-Axumite eras had Yemen and parts of Saudi Arabia under Ethiopian rule this is why you'll find similar artifacts in those respective areas. The Sheba/Solomon myth is a good explanation for why Ethiopia played host to the Jewish faith well before Christ even existed, but I have to stress that it's still considered a myth amongst scholars(guess what kind of scholars :skip:) but the myth of Sheba appears in many cultures aside from Ethiopian so it shows that at the very least she was a real person of great influence. If I can find it, I'll drop some examples of the different myths of Sheba.

Well it's all about being practical. East Africa needs stability and some real infrastructure before it can have it's own sillicon valley. Plus, it needs private investors willin to put something up for that. I know Ethiopia is trying to diversify it's economy but before anything there has to be clean water, more education, etc etc. I believe it'll happen eventually but we gotta work to get there. Ethiopia went from a medieval society to a modern democratic(:heh:) one in under 200 years, gotta take it slow.

No disrespect but.....

None taken, I'm always the first to say Ethiopians are real prideful and arrogant. It's just how we were raised. Nigerians are arrogant too but I respect it because they do what it takes to warrant that. Most of the pride comes from never being fully conquered and colonized as well as holding on to their religions and cultures without the influence of Europe. While Africa was in colonial chains, Menelik II was negotiating with the Europeans eye to eye and making allies with European powers like Russia and economic ties with France and Britain so there's this sense of superiority over all including whites. Some take it too far, and others like myself are humbly arrogant. Hell my grandfather and great grandfather were actively killing them cactalians when they invaded the second time it's hard not to be proud.

Do Habesha broads dig West African dudes :takedat:

They'll date em, marriage tho might be a tough one. If you get an open minded one then marriage won't be an issue. Parents usually pressure their daughters to marry another Ethiopian. It's not always the case though, so it depends on which Habesha chick you scoop up. If you get serious with one then I'd try to get cool with her parents, ask her how they feel about non-Habeshas before you make those efforts though cuz not everyone is like my family where they just don't give a shyt.

lmao, I wouldn't of known the story either if it wasn't beaten into my head by family members. If you ever notice how some Ethiopians/Eritreans are hella religious the Ark story/Sheba/Solomon is part of the reason for it. This is some of the more interesting aspects of Habesha culture because it links us with lots of Ancient kingdoms and civilizations, I believe that's why the culture takes on such a mystical tone especially when you go to the country. Even Islam's beginnings have some Ethiopian influence.

The other major religion legend was the Prester John legend in Europe, it was big during the crusades basically it's about a powerful Christian king that was deep within Muslim influenced lands. The legend started as far back as Negus Caleb of Axum due to the stories of how he consolidated Ethiopian hegemony over parts of the Arabian peninsula. It wasn't until the times of the crusades that Ethiopian emperors started making contacts with Christian Europe. The Portuguese came to Ethiopia and helped them beat back the Adal Sultanate after they had already trashed most of the country. They briefly got Emperor Susenyos to convert to Catholicism, it was so unpopular that some Orthodox Christians joined the Ethiopian Jewish faith due to its very ancient practices and its being rooted in Ancient Ethiopian customs. When Susenyos died and Fasilidas took over the people slaughtered the Catholic jesuits and returned the country to Orthodox Christianity.

The country's policies of isolationism and openness usually had some factor of religion in it until the time of Emperor Tewodros which is the beginning of Modern Ethiopia.

The one thing I struggle with is the male to male affection. I will be walking down the street and just be dying on the inside watching two men holding hands. I don't think I will ever be okay with that lol.

Anyways, my question: How do you turn down food/coffee respectfully in Ethiopian culture? I don't want to be rude but I'm afraid of getting sick over here. btw, i LOVE shiro! I could eat that with tibbs all day every day.
