Ill admit its not trash but id have more respect for the album if it wasnt named MMLP 2, if u gonna name it that theres certain standards that should be met and they werent.. with that being said, based on first day listening and blasting it while speeding on the highway tonight(:noah:), its a 6.5/10, could change for better or worse as I continue to listen as time passes:mjpls:

Alot of people are caught up with the name of the album, and I understand that, but I guess look at it a little differently. All "Marshall Mathers" is to me when it comes to his album titles is pretty much Eminem rapping about personal issues without the gimmicks that comes with the Slim Shady name. Kinda like an update on his life after the microphone is off. The sound may be different, but the message is still clear.

SINY!!
I dig the album a lot, and I think that will go up a little bit after hearing a proper rip. First impression?.......kind of reminds me of Kanye's Graduation.....in the sense that upon first listen the instrumentals themselves are meant to be anthematic, and epic......content-wise its similiar in the aspect that you have two grown men getting a little deeper, opening up, etc. Thats the feel off the bat for me....

As far as big/major label hip-hop artists go......the few left are going to stick to the formula (epic anthematic production that plays well in large arenas, and just don't suck at anything else)

Y'all are sleepin on this album.

It's surprisingly innovative considering Eminem just usually sticks to Hip-Hop trends (musically).

The way the samples are used on songs like Rhyme or Reason, So Far, and Love Game are crazy and really original. These tracks end up being really musical and will have lots of replay value.

I think this shyt went over a lot of people's heads cos it is nothing like we expected in terms of sound and quality. Dope music :ehh:

After listening to it once, it definitely was better than I expected. The name puts terrible expectations for the album though. Better than Recovery in type of music I'd actually listen to. Kinda pleasantly surprised about it in general though.

Not gonna act like there aren't duds or :patrice: moments either. Stronger than I Was should've been deleted right after that studio session ended.

I wager that this album will grow on people for sure. It's one of those rap albums you listen to once and really can't describe the feeling it gives you without more time. There sprinkles of brilliance all through MMLP2... all I wanted Em to do is make an album that rap heads would be like :obama: to. I do think he's accomplished that, at least. As an artist, there's some progression here, we need no more recovery and we need no more relapse(as much as i loved it). MMLP2 is kinda like a blend between the best of both.:noah:

So Far gets better and better each listen

so many songs could have videos with the visuals/stories he is spittin

He really went off Evil Twin

Edit: did he throw a little competitive jab at Jay and Nas with that Top 4 line?
