that "SO FAR.." is GOAT..
coli gon love it
coli gon love it
Stronger than I was sounds like some bad karaoke. I'm a stan who loves this album, but that song man. I don't get what Em was thinking, especially for a project like this.
These beats aren't "understated" though ... they're just garbage.
Em used to use minimalist production (like Drake does) ... but he hasn't since Encore.

production meshes perfectly with the vibe/content
"bad guy" is a bad beat track is a masterpiece. the creativity
After listening to the album again, this album is
If you are a real Eminem fan you would appreciate this album so much. When he said in that Rolling Stone interview that the album was more of a revisitation of the first MMLP he wasn't lying. Through out the whole album he through out lines that not only shades the first MMLP, but his previous albums as well. One example of this is the Parking Lot skit that is pretty much the continuation of the interlude from Criminal which left me like . Or on Brainless when he throw out a few lines that went back to Brain Damage when he went in the closet to beat up the bully which left me like
To be honest my favorite track on here is So Far because it really shows Em dealing with becoming an adult and trying to catch up with how things changed. Especially the part where he aludes to I'm Back and The Real Slim Shady which left me like
He called this the Marshall Mathers LP 2 because this is the sequel to who he is as a person at this point in his life. The first MMLP was the album that summed up his thoughts of how he took fame and everything that came with it (the controversial, his family tearing apart, drugs, etc). MMLP2 is 13 years later and we've seen the out come of everything that happened in the first one and everything else in between
There was very few "yelling" and there wasn't any "accents" but this album (with the exception of Stronger Then I Was and The Monster which I now lightweight hate because it throws off the whole flow of the album to me ) is damn near perfection. If you are a Eminem fan and have been through the whole ride with him since the beginning. You should damn near call this album a instant classic. Yeah I said it
I'm not even gonna lie, Headlights nearly had a nikka ...if y'all nikkas are mad and call that song wack just because he is apologizing to the person that gave birth to him then I don't know what the fukk to say to you.
In fact, if your expecting the same content he gave you on the first MMLP, then I suggest you go back and listen to Relapse. Cuz that's the closest you will EVER get to that side of Em again.
Production wise, you can TELL Rick Rubin and Dre had their hand on every single track and made sure that every track sounded . I don't know what Rick Rubin did, but he made sure he got the very BEST out of Em. I that hippie!
When those bonus tracks drop..I might just put this album up there with The Eminem Show as Em most complete album.
The 2nd half of Bad Guy had a nikka like
I'm having a moment right now...this is why he is my favorite rapper...
